Then I went into Wisbech to the CAB to see the Macmillan Welfare Advisor there. My appointment was 11am but she had squeezed me in really and I had to wait about 20 mins to see her but when I got in there, whooooooosh ................... she got everything done so quicklyDLA form filled in - automatic entitled to Full Rate Care Component under Special Rules for Terminal Cancer; Blue Badge form completed and should have that through in 2 working days - no photo or signature required on this fast track system under Special Rules; she part completed the form for Carers Allowance but I have to get Alan to sign that and then hold onto it until DLA processed - won't get any money but Underlying Entitlement opens the door to other things
; gave me form to apply for grant from Macmillan - we have to say what we need the money for, up to £250 grant possible. I'd forgotten to take in details of Alan's medication so I rang that in to the office when I got home. I have to get in touch with her again when the DLA comes through and then see her again to do the rest :j
People are being so nice and generous to usIt is so heartwarming and restores your faith in human nature sometimes, but we both find it hard in another way, as we are givers, not generally takers, always go out of our way to help other people when they need it. I can't really express how much it has helped us deal with Alan's cancer, having such good friends - real life and virtual
I love you lot of rascals :rotfl: :rotfl:
So glad youre getting it sorted so quickly, a weight off both your minds Im sure
Oh and Im sure I speak for the Elite when I say we love you too xx:heart2:Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.:heart2:0 -
People will still buy the 4 pack, I can't believe how many people shop with their eyes closed
When the 36 weetabix pack was on offer at £2 I stood debating 2 or 3 boxes, several people picked up the 24 pack (12p dearer than the 36 pack) and a few people got the 48 pack which was almost double the price! I did tell one person but they snapped "I only want 24"
I know this from experience, people are generally completely wacko when it comes to shopping!
I remember standing in a store while stocking up those 62 pack of platinum fairy dishwasher tabs for £6 (30 pack was £5), I hung around and informed two people, first one debated and eventually said "yes but it's the quality of the wash I'm after" and walked off with a 30pk of the normal ones, I had tried pointing out that platinum was the top of the range but she wouldn't be told.
Second person ignored me and bought the normal one.
I was about to give up but I hung around and told a third person, who thanked me profusely and got herself several packsSo some people do appreciate it, they're just few and far between. Their ears :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I also double checked on their website and it's true. Size 3, 4, 4+,5 or 6 (38-64 in a pack). Was £9.98 but down to £4.99. If you saved your £2 huggies coupon from the website, that will take it down even further :j
oooh, think this is my first decent "find" (not quite free or 1p but better than nothing).
Thank you!
Various huggies inc pull-ups are half price in T's until the 9th, the other day I picked up a pack of 12 XL pull-ups for boys for 74p after the voucher! :j:j:jNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023

I have had a very good day, as reported earlier, 24 bottles of wine delivered from M&S to my work. Then the postie came with a tin of deoderant.
Got home to find a new mascara delivered thanks to the 'clean campain' and OMG what a bonus, the lovely taxman sent me a nice tidy cheque for over £300, thats the third in a year!!Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
For everyday wear, Crocs fans, you can't beat (the nicer, sexier), Flyflots. I credit them with giving me many extra years of mobility, after I had a bad fall.
Do Crocs cushion your feet as you walk, I'm interested, because Flyflots have millions of air bubbles that cushion and act as a shock absorber every time you put your foot down. They also mould themselves to the shape of your foot and are supremely comfortable (they also do them in rugged styles for men).
I had a pair of fly-flot sandals and they were comfy HOWEVER, once I'd worn them in, the leather stretched so much it was like walking on sand dunes, my feet slipping around in them all over the place.
I also went through the whole crocs phase, until I discovered uggs, not the Ugg brand but still real sheepskin, I live in them, I have four pairs, in camel, brown, black and grey, they are BRILLIANT!
I got my latest pairs from here, I got the link off the main MSE site

Two lovely SAs helped me search the store (an extra!), I checked my car and rang my mum to see if it had fallen out at home but no it hadn't!!!
I'm so angry with myself I've lost my bank cards (all now cancelled), my loyalty cards (also reported as lost and new ones coming out), luckily I'd only a few pence in there but I've lost a few of my wombled £5 off MOCs but still have 1 for this week and one for next week thank goodness.
I'll have to run to my bank tomorrow with my passport to lift some cash to tide me over until the new card comes out but I must admit to already missing my switch card, couldn't even get fuel for the car
Things can only get better :rotfl: If I didn't laugh I'd cry
I would turn your car inside out, there are a MILLION places things can hide! But of course if you've already cancelled your cards there won't be anything you can do for now.
I hope things work out for you xxxNo Buying Unnecessary Toiletries 2023
