    just ordered thanks op
Received this set this morning. I have a set of Laguiole steak knives and forks already and the set I received today is not the same quality. Original set knives weigh 62gms - the new ones weigh 45 gms and the quality overall is not good. I don't put my original set in the dishwasher but I definitely wouldn't put these in. I think the metal would corrode and the handles become brittle and fall off very quickly. The trademark 'bees' on the back of the handles will very soon fall off. However, having said all that they will probably give reasonable service for a short time if carefully looked after e.g. - no dishwasher or soaking. My original set of 6 knives and forks cost around £100 a few years ago.
We don't eat much steak etc but when we do these knives are the business - and they look great. I wash them by hand and put them back in the box till next time.

Just opened the invoice and it says 'Price: £2.00 Paid in full, Thank you'.

Mine arrived yesterday, the invoice also said "£2.00 paid in full". To be honest they are a lot nicer and better quality than I was expecting. They won't last forever but as we eat steak once in a blue moon and don't have a dishwasher, they should last quite a few years I would think.

Still can't see that they've charged my card though.

Just got 3 sets of the 4 I ordered, don't think much of the quality, not sure I will give them as gifts now.

Invoice has '£2 paid in full' nothing out of my account as of yet.

but my bank has held the money

    What does that mean.

I enquired and got the following response.

Thank you for your recent email. Upon investigating your account I can see that your order did not register correctly on our systems. Please accept our sincere apologies for this. I have placed the order for you today. Please allow 7-10 working days for the item to arrive. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.[/FONT]

If you haven't been charged I wouldn't count your chickens just yet.
They have 6 years to collect and with the volume of orders I feel it's unlikely to be completely overlooked, probably just delayed.

Does anyone have a contact number for Readers Digest? I haven't received anything or had any refund...
