They'll keep the "nice" cars advertised even once they've sold, it draws in interest and once they've got their claws into you, they'll push to sell whatever else they've got knocking around.
You don't see it so much on Ebay, but in Autotrader it's rife.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Not everyone has 24/7 access to the internet.Quite correct
if you go in this weekend past, all you would find is sodden boots where tailgates are open
balloons in their last throws of live struggling in the drizzle
scratches on that car you was considering because little Johnny just ran down the side of it with his anorak zip flapping and its been reduced to a phenomenal £3991 before it goes on the transporter to the auction because no one else wants a death blue yaris
so give the OP a chance

This has been interesting reading, some astonishingly mild people here presumably used to bending over.
OP did the wrong thing by accepting the car in the first place, it wasn't the car purchased, it is a car 1750 miles older and should be renegotiated if the purchaser is still interested.
I wouldn't be interested in buying from them if thats how they treat their customers property, and the lack of interest from the company after the event is discovered is just the proof if any were needed that the branch in question is staffed by some dishonourable discourteous people.
These threads are constantly proving that you use the services of impersonal finance glass palaces masquerading as car dealers at your peril.
Smaller and long established family owned dealers do not behave like this, if something like this happens the top dog would soon be on the phone or writing to put things right.
Its not that something has gone wrong, mistakes do happen and things do break, its how the situation is handled after the event that shows the integrity of the company.0 -
I would ask for 15p per mile back, which is a reasonable amount, based on wear and tear and the beneficial use they had of the car.

I thought exactly the same thing about my Ka when I got it at 15 months old. But, when the logbook arrived in the post the previous owner turned out to be a doctor on the specialist register! (geriatrics)0 -

How about the HMRC allowable rate of 40p/mile -closer to £700 - for cash, or the local council rate?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
