Gutting about the fail. Before I bought handsome baby I found a little blue roan cob that I liked. He was gorgeous, nothing bothered him but he wouldn't go in the school, he was being sold by a small riding school. They said he hated it but would be fine for hacking and maybe in time I would get him in school. He was so ideal for me that I had him vetted twice and he failed both times. The owner offered him me for a 3 month trial but I walked away after chatting with my own vet who was at the time a neighbour. Whilst my head knows it was the right thing to do my heart has always regretted not buying Mav.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
I have a very good friend who is a horse person, and I know there is a lot of emotion involved.
It must be so difficult to walk away from what initially seemed like the perfect horse.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Definitely enjoy the process and be picky! A few horseless weeks is worth getting the right horse in the long run.
That said I am going mad with frustration at the lack of decent horses that I can find, arrrrgggh!Mortgage Apr 18 £417,894 BTL Mar 18 £162,857

Long time no post... It's coz I've been busy... With my new horse
:D
Turned up last week all 16.1 of him!
He's a beautiful dapple grey id / haffy but a little baby at only 7
He's very scared of everything which is totally opposite to what he was like when I tried him but he is a quick learner so we've been making progress
Have ridden him and lunged him but not hacked him just yet as he's so nervous and I don't want to rush him

Oh what a lovely mix, bet he's stunning! What are you planning to do with him and your new box? Hope he continues to settle in well and you can take him out soon to burn off some energy.
