lonely the charges might not stop - Im still getting charges. I know its hard but try to stop being so worried about it. Much easier said than done I know but you can reclaim all these charges once things have settled down and it really will stop! Think about it this way - if your DMP lasts 7 yrs (say) and your charges and interest stop in the next few months, the benefit massively outways the negative and also the money saved will be huge compared to the money adding up at the moment.
I also have charges etc going on (about £500 so far) and I know that continuing the way I was, I was getting charges and interest each month of about £700 so in balance it will eventually turn around for the better.
I know you are stressed due to the repeated calls and demands for money - start just talking over them when they call with your payplan number and payplan's telephone number, then hang up. Eventually they'll get the messatge. Just keep doing this, do not enter into any converstaiton with them.CCCS DMP:Feb 07

CCCS have sent letters out to the creditors, but as yet none have stopped anything. Honestly, I'd be suprised if they did at the beginning. Until they receive the first payments, then they (quite rightly) don't know how commited I am.
I expect interest and stuff to carry on for a while, and then tail off a bit. If it happens sooner, then all the better.
Ironically, the interest is the very least of my concerns. It'll be enough as a start for them to accept the lower payments.Chuffed to be member 11 on the DMP mutual support thread.

My total debt went up at first too, but after 3 months on the plan alot of creditors refunded me some of my charges as a goodwill thing.
I have been on a dmp for over a year now, dont panic too much about the amount going up whilst in the process of setting dmp up, it will all sort its self out, and you will feel as though you are in control of your money again.
The creditors have to be sure your commited to the plan, so alot dont stop interest at first, but the longer you are on it and paid on time, the more likely that they will reduce interest or stop in completly.

Hello Everyone...Yey I am Number 14 on Kellys List ! ! !
Anyway I haven't posted here for a week as there has been nothing to report but I am glad to say that HSBC and Lloyds have finally caved in and have agree to Payplans figures.
HSBC did write and ask where the Managed Loan forms were. I didn't tell them they went up in smoke under my apple trees. In fact I didn't tell them anything.
Lloyds have paid £750 refund of bank charges and I am going for the rest £1200..The Financial Ombudsman are on board now and things are looking up.
Do you know I have just been reading the last few pages of this thread and cannot believe that I was feeling so worried and stressed like all our new friends on here.Things in comparison now are great. DMP sorted out ...as we all will one day...money in the bank after the bills are paid and we are now back in control. That is all that we are striving to do I know but I remember those dark days at the end of last year when I spent most days in tears.
What a difference a DMP makes !!
Hang in there and Hi to the gang !!

Hi
Bluediamond I See that you went with Payplan .How long was it before the paperwork arrived for you to sort out?.
I was also down and probably will be in the future but I agree with you. How nice it is to see a way forward.

Should reach the 1000 today. Another question totally unrelated to money(Sometimes its nice to forget about figures for a while,Dont you agree,) How many posts do I need to get my first star. If it is 20 I will be back shortly.
