Newlywed, have you got a car? Can you drive up to near the Cotswolds - I stayed at a lovely place called the Shaven Crown (google it) and it costs about £80 for the night for two people including breakfast. It would probably take you 3 hours to get there but it's well worth the drive. The hotel is an old castle - and the 5th oldest hotel in Britain. It has a lovely locals pub attached to it, and you could go for some lovely country stolls.

We should be able to borrow a car for the weekend. Cotswolds sounds nice, used to go there on day trips from relatives in Worcester when we were little. Will look that up.

Lewes, the company I worked for used to send us there on training days, so not sure on that one. Though can get there by train.

    Evening everyone

I haven't been on here in absolute weeks. I've been on a real downer. DMP is fine and no-one phones any more so that's good reason to be thankful. However the bank accounts remain seriously OD and I never seem to have any money despite the fact we have good salaries coming in. I have decided that my only way out of this mess is to claim the bank charges which will sort out the ODs but I still have fears about that in case they close the accounts and/or force us to repay the mortgage or something.

I hope you are all doing well and I do look forward to joining in again.

    Hi Ex-Spend!

Make sure you open up a parachute account with someone else, just so if things turn ugly, you've got somewhere to put the money into, and where no-one can nab it without you knowing!

    Hello Ex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's so lovely to have you back! Missed you! Sorry to hear you've been feeling a bit down. We're hear to perk you back up again :T (and everyone else who's been feeling a bit ropey - sorry I've not been around much to help).

Joek - Can't believe I've missed my Quotation King again... like ships that pass in the night! One of these days the three of us will make it on here at the same time! Hope you are well -get working on some more quality quotations in the mean time :D

Carboot Queen - how are you my lovely? Hope the studying is going well.

newlywed - Cotwolds sounds fantastic. You could make up a few cheap treats, like take some little choccies to hide around the room as a treasure hunt (the last one to be found could be hidden somewhere a little more, ahem, personal?!). Make a CD/tape of his fav tunes to play in the car there? If someone was going to get you a present, maybe ask for a bottle of champers so you can take it with you? Some fancy underwear ;) If you or any of your family/friends has a polariod camera, take it with you and take lots of really funny photos of each other, doing funny poses/faces, random sights. Then you could put them in a cheap collage poster frame/album (Ebay or poundshop special!) and make it your 1st anniversay album? A comedy alternative to your actual wedding album!

lonely - your holiday sounds fab. Glad you had a good time, you definitely deserved it. Is Kelly there just now too?

amani - good news about Halifax - well done! Sounds like they'll do it :j

    CQ
& Sweety - Sorry to hear about the nasty phonecalls, there is just no need to call at place of work. Get those letters sent. Big hugs to you both.

IDA & YM - Hello my cherubs! How are you? You're always so cheerful YM! How's uni IDA?

Hi to everyone else I've missed (too many to mention everyone, but will attempt again soon!!).

I'm okay, but having a bit of an issue with Lycos. I signed up for a free trial of their internet thingie (to get the £5 from R-Points). Tried to cancel it before end of free trial but had bug in their system for ages so coudln't do it. Kept sending emails about it, computer response. Anyway they charged me the subscription fee which came out of my Halifax account (on DMP). £58 of charges later... Now PayPlan have called me saying Halifax are complaining that I'm still using the account and this could jepordise my whole DMP

Also, Natwest are still saying they know nothing about Payplan helping me with my DMP - what should I do :o

    Hope you are all well.

    Big squeezy, squishy hugs,

    Good Morning everyone.

Thanks for all your replys. They made me feel a lot better. Thanks for suggesting sending the letter Craftingqueen. I will definitely look into sending it.

I received all my documents back yesterday from the CCCS with a letter saying they can now start processing my DMP. So I should pay my first payment soon I hope!

Hope everyone has a really good day.

    Take care

    hi all,
no bad post again!!!hope its not the calm before the storm.anyway ill be postive about it .
sea......just seen the new pics of the kids.takes me back to when my ds was small.is now 13 and has found the "must have only designer labels and a very bad attitude" stage of life and keeps telling me hes going to fone childline.i told him to fone them while i pack his carrier bag.funny how hes goes off the idea!!kids, eh?
smilealot......good to hear from you but bad about the charges.doesnt take long for little things to snowball.know the feeling.good luck.x
lonely......glad you enjoyed your hol.now youll be refreshed again.
can i just suggest again that anyone sending their letters from their dmps to write on about no fone calls, just correspondence in writing that you can keep on file incase of future ref and proof.when they cash the goodwill payments that you may be sending with the letters, youll know they received the fone comments and if they ring, you can remind them.if its in writing you have a great case for harassment.
glad most of you are doing well and good luck to everyone.now posties been ill go out.i like to wait in till hes been.strange how one person, through no fault of his own, can influence my mood and the rest of my day.(always knew i was strange but now you lot know as well.
    take care of yourselves(especially nikkijp + one.x)
    regards,xx
People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with :)

Hi all, hope everything is ok. OH has a voucher for Old English Inns so might try and book one of those for anniversary. Don't know anyone who's stayed in one though :o

Have finally uploaded our honeymoon photo's and printed copies should be on their way to me in the post (was waiting for OH's decision as to which ones to print). We haven't sorted our wedding photo's out yet either!!

    Only taken a year!!!

Still all quiet here. Hope CCCS hurry up with the payment details so I can make first payment this week.
