Good day to one and all.

I have today received my bank charges form HSBC. They have plopped staright into my a/c thus leaving me with much less overdraft to pay back - woo hoo.

The thing is though. I have been on my DMP for 2 months with the CCCS and they have helped me through this time when I have literally had no money, not even any change for bread etc (had to borrow lots). However, I am now due to start a new job that will pay me much more than I am now and I will be in a position to pay more to my creditors.

Does it make sense to stay with the CCCS, who I know have negotiated 0% interest with my creditors, or shall I go it alone and pay off my creditors with my increased salary and allowing myself a little more each month to live on as the CCCS will take every penny that I don't officially need to live on?

    Hi everyone!!!

Sorry I havent been around much recently. Gots lots going on and I dont seem to get five minutes to post.

newlywed I think it was you that asked about the GE Money amount. I owe approx £1150 now (it was 1500 but reclaimed my charges and won!!!). The debt is with Viking services and I am paying them via cccs £18.75 a month.

Just a quick mention if anyone is dealing with first direct, We had a loan with them that is now going through cccs. First direct have been brilliant and very understanding. They have closed our bank accounts which is what we wanted. They have then created a joint bank account and put the balance of the loan outstanding into it. I log on to internet banking and there is a debit account balance of £9050 so I can watch it go down with cccs payments (£68.12 per months). They have set it with an overdraft of £9100 so I wont get any o/d fees or interest. I hope this helps anyone who is dealing with them. They are very understanding and will review in 12 months.

I hope everyone is well and all happy bunnys.

    Love
    Winkus

Forgot to say that cccs and I estimated the loan amount to be about 10464 so it is actually a lot less which is :j

It means my total debt has already gone down especially after the ge money charges refund!!!!

I am in the process of claiming back £1250 from BOS mastercard as i got my statements through the other day. Wish me luck.........

Thanks winkus. Glad you have a good relationship with FD. They weren't so helpful to OH, but he didn't use a DMP (his ex promised she was making payments but was only paying £1 and FD never contacted him until they sent a default! Then refused to accept his payment offer even though he had virtually no work and sent an SOA and so sold it on to a debt company).

Hopefully they'll be good to me - have banked with them for many years and never went over my overdraft (although credit card limit is a different story) :o

Great news on the bank charges :T :T

Although i am yet due to start my DMP until the 1st May i feel that you should stick with CCCS. You have already said they have helped you thus far and indeed have even managed to negociate 0% interest with your creditors. If it was me i would contact CCCS and go through your income/expenditure with them again. Taking into account your new job and also make sure that in your budget allow for EVERTHING you need to survive. Not just the everyday living but also things like xmas/birthdays Car etc.

You have done great this far and good luck on your new job.

Also CCCS are a recognised negociator and perhaps this is the reason you have 0% interest with your respective creditors.

Hope the above helps ,and at the end if the day it is your choice, whatever route you choose. Good luck.

I have 3 of my debts with them and they have been understanding so far. Long may it continue.

newlywed I was suprised with FD actually. They was straight on the phone as soon as they heard from cccs. I remember thinking 'oh no what do they want' but they have been really helpful and explaining everything along the way. We did have a hicup where we had to include dh onto the DMP because he was on the loan but that was all sorted. THey also contact cccs which is something GE money refuse to do. How are things in sunny Bwood????? We was at st georges park the other day. Do you go there???

You will find the Tesco finance thing on there Tesco direct website - £9.99. I also had to pay delivery but if you have a big Tesco near you it should be on the shelf. I was looking for something similar to Microsoft money that was not as expensive and for me it does the trick. The only downside is there are not a lot of instuctions to get you started but if i can do it anyone can. I am finding it absolutly brilliant in helping me know exactly what are in my accounts.

I also have DD birthday tomorrow but i had allowed for that. Other DD birthday next month also allowed for. God i sound so organised. I have also opened a saving account for my car. Car tax due end of June.

Thanks YM gonna go and have a look at that. I was thinking about MS Money but found it expensive.

You sound very organised. Sounds like you need to sort out mine now!!!! In this house there is always something that needs paying for. School uniforms this week have cleared us out!!!!

    Oh the joys of parenting!!!!
