Do you think this thread is getting quieter because we are all settling into our dmp's and not getting as much hassle as before. Which of course I am quite glad about. Need a few more newbies to keep the posts coming.

  • Hi everyone, sorry not been on for a while been buzy working but that will be stopping soon, worse luck.
My postie has been really buzy with us lately,he stands at at our door sorting out a pile of not very nice letters  .
We've had four phone calls alone, cahoot and Nationwide not sure who the other two where hubby could'nt get to the phone before it stopped.
cahoot:-Hubby answered the phone they asked for his details he told them that he wasen't going to do that,as the person could have been anyone. The lady was quite shocked that he would'nt tell her the details she wanted and said they could'nt continue the phone call. This is the second phone call from cahoot.
Nationwide:-caller was really off handed with hubby quoting him a telephone number that he should ring, because he would'nt tell him details.

Not looking forward to tomorrow i'm thinking it's only just began and it's going to get a lot worst for us i think.

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest, hope everyone did'nt have any phone calls today.

    Hi guys :hello:

    craftingqueen
    - Cahoot were lovely to me when they phoned, I just explained the situation, i.e. starting Payplan DMP, here is my ref no, I've made a token payment. They've been by far my best creditor. Good luck!

I'm only on for a quick 30 sec post so unfortunately can't go through the thread, but welcome to the newbies, keep those questions flowing! Yeah, I guess you're right about the thread quietening down, the initial stages are when all the questions need answering and there were so many of us starting out at the same time initially. I know personally that I love popping on for a bit of banter regardless, but life is so mad busy I just can't seem to find a minute  I'm sure I'll be back with renewed vigour during the next school holiday (100 posts a day) :rotfl:

    Love to you all,

morning everyone and hello and welcome to any newbies,

nothing to report really, it is very quiet on here though at the moment.

I dont know if anyone saw my post the other day, I was getting calls from the Halifax, automated saying this is a call for DH NAME, press any key to continue, as the account is not in my name i knew they would not speak to me and DH was at work (12hrs 9-9). So I blocked the number, have not had anymore calls, is that naughty???????????

    Hi everyone:hello:

Hope all are well and not having too much trouble with creditors.

It's been very quite in teecee world, no nasty phonecalls or letters. I think others are right when they say the thread is very quiet recently. I haven't been on as much lately due to having loads of other stuff going on but I try to keep up with how everyone is doing.
Now that most of us are a little way into our DMPs it seems we have a lot less hassle from creditors and that can only be a good thing!:D

Its still lovely to have somewhere to chat and discuss stuff though and I'm sure now we are up and running new members to our support club will find this thread really helpful.

I wil try to make a concerted effort to keep up and post even if we only help one person on the way to being Debt Free we have acheived a great deal.

amani - I don't think barring the number is naughty at all!!!:D If these people treated us like human beings we wouldn't be so scared of talking to them.

    Take Care everyone xx

    Morning all.

Nothing to report yet as the postie has not been.

It has gone quite on hear. However if it was not for this thread I would not now be dealing with my problems. Great thread helped me no end.

If it was not for this site i would never have heard of Stardrops. Success on that front as i have today purchased 2 bottles of the magic potion :j :j

Bit more expensive than i have seen it 75p for 600ml in Sainsburys. Only 2 bottles on the shelf so i grabbed them. Off now to give it a go.

Hope everybody has a great day

    Hi everyone,

I was just wondering something. A lot of people on this thread are quite resistant to talking to creditors on the phone, not giving personal details, etc. But why? If it means you can sort out a good deal for yourself then it might be worth it. Payplan and CCCS are good, but they can take ages to do things you could do in two minutes. I understand if people don't want to engage in confrontational discussions or be subject to bully-boy tactics...but you can always cut them off if that happens.

Just wondering what you all thought?

I think because some of them can be so aggressive, asking you to borrow money from family, threatening to send bailiffs to take all your contents away and all the other scare tactics they use, it makes everyone nervous of speaking to any of them.

That and the fact that I know if they offered me another loan with lower repayments, I'd probably spend a few minutes thinking about whether I could manage repayments.... :o
