hey there everyone...scottish mummy, 60 pounds a month is harsh, is this just for gas? i hope you get something sorted out soon, if not with them at least with CCCS (I'm sure they'll be sympathetic).

i did a stupid, stupid thing yesterday. was checking to see if a&l would accept my dmp - they said they may have to secure it against my property and bring it to court - i said i was not a home owner - they said but it states mortgage payments on your dmp and you ticked home owner box when you applied for your loans - doh! didn't know what to say, just ended up saying it was complicated and finishing the conversation (even though the rep wanted a yes or no answer)

don't know why i did it, i just got angry that if you're a home owner you get penalised for being on a dmp, whilst non-home owners get away from having to deal with all the ccj bullsh*t! i have all intention of keeping up repayments, so why do they have to make situation worse?

    i messed up didn't i?

P.S. this is a criticism of the inequality in treatment imposed by the creditors - NOT a criticim of anyone else struggling with debt

I suppose you might have got away with it if it was only your partners name on the deeds but your debt with A&L. Never mind hopefully it wont come to that and they accept your dmp.

Pre dmp we tried to take out a loan - can't remember who with - but it would have been secured against the house. Bank of Scotland refused to allow it. So glad they did as we would be struggling to pay anymore now.

Well we have had a busy afternoon here. We got a carpet from a friend ages ago that she was lifting. It is really good quality and was from her lounge which was rarely used so is still in excellant condition. She was getting the original parquet flooring underneath sanded and varnished. We thought it would trim to fit one of the rooms we have been doing up upstairs and it turns out it has fitted that room with enough leftover to fit the top of the stairs where my office will be.:T :T The other room is carpetted with the carpet which was our livingroom carpet. We lifted the carpet from all the downstairs rooms, sanded, stained and put 6 coats of oil on them. What a job that was but they look great, or at least they did when we first did them but nearly 5 years down the line the livingroom could be doing with another couple of coats. Thankfully we still have lots of oil left over from when we first did it. The good thing about oiling though is we don't need to sand it back like we would if we had vernished.

So tomorrows job is moving all of the stuff that was piled up the other end of the house into that room so we can paint the second room then we just need to get in touch with the electrician to say he can come and finish the job he started ages ago. DS wants to sleep in his room tonight so I said he could sleep in a sleeping bag if he wanted. Mind you he will probably be woken really early as we don't have blinds on the velux windows up there.

Sorry for waffling I'm just so pleased to have finally got that carpet down. If I had known it was going to be as simple as it was I would have done it weeks ago.

Not at all - though I can see why you thought i was saying this. I'm angry with the creditors, they're like vultures, not with non-home owners that experience financial difficulty. We're all in the same boat, so we should be treated the same. It shouldn't be that your home is ever threatened, especially at the initial stages before you've done anything wrong, regardless of whether you own or rent your property.

    Hi all :hello:
Welcome Lisa - I'd leave it will the little amounts as f you're going with CCCS, it should then pay off some of those little amounts sooner than the others, which in the long run might be a nice psychological boost.

It really !!!!es me off about the whole charges on property thing - I don't think my creditors will but even if they do it won't make any difference as I won't be selling the house soon! (hopefully anyway - we'll obviously see what OH wants to do but he's not getting me out of this house!!). Hugs to all who are worrying about this.

Listing on Ebay now - well, turbolister anyway. Have about 100 things to get through and if they sell I'll probably be left with about £50 profit, but it's better than nothing!!

Wonderful weather and my mum has been here treating up to a day in the park - lunch in the cafe, going on the boating lake, playground etc. i LOVE my mum she is wonderful. She pays my broadband as well as I though tit wasn't a luxury I should pay for :)

Hope all are well, can't catch up on all the posts - sorry :(

hey there, i owe lloyds around 18K in total and i am paying back around 180 a month (3 separate debts). they have been OK, not great at communicating with each other and payplan are close to making a complaint about how long they are taking to accept dmps. they are just telling people to be patient. i managed to speak to someone who accepted my repayments over the phone, just waiting for confirmation in post - so there may be some light for you at the end of the tunnel!
