AAAArrrrrrrrggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh............... just needed to let off some steam. I've just been on hold to Payplan for 20mins (costing me a fortune). I finally got through to the wrong dept cos they don't recognise my ID number (because the call back thing doesn't ever happen it seems) and confronted them with the advice that lonely gave regarding missing telephone numbers to be told, no we are just busy.
Anyway, my team are useless it feels like. They are saying the don't know my sort codes etc - BUT I'VE GIVEN THEM AT LEAST 5 TIMES!!!! I even told the guy where he could find them on my documentation - he says "oh, yes, you're right, they were here all along". This has stopped anything happening on my account for the past month and creditors are getting tetchy (understandably). Another thing is all my statement etc appear to have been lost that I sent them. I spent bl**dy ages collating them and annotating them and keep getting told, oh it will take a while to scan them on - three or four weeks later?!?! They said they needed the info urgently so I sent it the next day.
And they don't have a clue where one of my balances came from. They say Halifax told them my balance was £1000 but it's really £2000 (OD!). They keep saying, well maybe it was an old balance but I've never had that balance in the past six months. Then this guy tried to say I gave them that balance - !!!!!!!!!
I was a bit narky with the guy, which I feel a bit bad about, but my DMP is now lagging behind and the charges/interest is being slapped on. My creditors have been great freezing balances for two weeks waiting on the payment finalisation figures, but Payplan have never been in touch (their admittance).
Sorry to rant on, I am sooooo annoyed. Before I tried not to rant about Payplan, as I don't want to put others off and I fully appreciate that other teams are likely to be more efficient and maybe I just need to take a chill pill, but we just don't need this kind of stuff. The people I have on my team really don't seem to know what they are talking about as I have to tell them what they need to do - I'm supposed to be getting advice from them, not the other way around!! And it doesn't help that they don't seem to understand my Scottish accent partly because they aren't British themselves (not being racist, it's just fact, it causes me problems like amounts and phone numbers being logged incorrectly). My accent isn't broad - I managed to teach perfectly well in a strongly accented Sunderland school!!
Aaaahhhh, feeling a bit better now. Sorry again for ranting. I'll probs delete this post in 5 mins!!Member #4 of the DMP Mutual Support Club - DFW Nerd #335

HUgs to you Smile - what a nightmare! Have you considered changing to CCCS? I don't know if others are having problems with Payplan, but I seem to have heard quite a few bad things about them on here recently. Could just be what I'm remembering though!

Thanks Sea. I would, but then I worry that my creditors will be funny about me delaying things again and the amounts would change. I'm hoping that they will get things sorted and once my payments start reaching the creditors cos I'm already paying PayPlan, it will settle down.
How funny that I'm getting stressed by the charity who are supposed to help me with the stress of dealing with my creditors - but they have been fine!!! Should be grateful about that I suppose :TMember #4 of the DMP Mutual Support Club - DFW Nerd #335

Hi Smile, it sounds like a nightmare. I really sympathise. Firstly, the procedure you've been through sounds different from mine, everything was sorted out much quicker. I didn't need to send them the statements, just gave an up-to-date balance. Can't speak for Halifax, maybe they did just have some dodgy person give Payplan the wrong balance - although if this didn't correlate to the estimate you gave, alarm bells should have rung. Also, I was able to check account numbers and sort codes online.
Going forward, I would suggest you get a personal email for your case officer (and for members of the team). If I need an urgent query answered I just email a few of them, and one will usually respond quite quickly. I never go through the justabank messaging service.
For the phone thingy, ring up the Freephone number (won't cost you anything, do it when you're not angry) and speak to a supervisor. Ask them to tell you what number is in the home telephone field? If it is blank, ask them to put your mobile number in it. The man I spoke to said that this was definitely the reason why my ID was not being recognised but I was lucky to have got through to him because many people were still getting used to the new system and were not aware of this glitch.
Part of the reason I think I have got quite good service from Payplan is because I have been on their backs almost every week, finding out updates and asking questions - so I think they may be getting used to me. I don't know for definite, I'm sure they speak to hundreds every day, but if they know you are proactive, they will think twice about messing you around. Another part - unfortunately - is pot luck. Everyone I have spoke to has been excellent on my case officer's team (Linda), apart from one person - who was really bad. I have not let this put me off and have just persevered with other members.
One ray of hope - your case officer will change once you have made your first payment. You will be transferred to a "LONG-TERM client relationship manager" - hopefully this one will understand your accent.
Before you change to CCCS, I heard some real horror stories about them from an industry insider. In contrast, everything I have read on this site has been very positive. So i'd say, it doesnt matter who you go with in the end, a large part of it just come down to luck of the draw and who you speak to on any given day. Don't get upset, take a deep breath, make yourself a cup of tea, and remind yourself that the mounting interest will be wiped out by the years of interest-free repayments once the DMP kicks in. You need to keep the faith to stop yourself going mad.I'm moving on up now,

Thanks so much for the support Sea, lonely and teecee. I really appreciate it. I've calmed myself down now - my poor hoover bore the brunt of my frustration earlier!!!!
lonely - thanks so much for such a detailed reply, it must have taken you ages. Lots of fantastic advise, I'm going to act on all of it. I did ask about the telephone number fields but they said they were all populatedI'll try again in a couple of days. I think you are right about calling them and chasing things up, it gets it all moving. Are you thinking about calling your creditors? Let me know how it goes, I might follow step in 10 years once PayPlan start distributing my payments :rotfl: Great news about the change of case officer. Is that once the payments start being sent to my creditors? Woo hoo :T I'm sure they are all very nice people, but I think I've been allocated to the team in training. We've all been there, but when you're stressed about something as serious as this you need someone who'll put your mind at rest. Thanks again, you're a star :staradmin (out of curiosity, when did you first contact Payplan to get the ball rolling? Think I was the start of Feb.)
Well done Michelle - you're getting on really well. Good to here some positivity. I hate being negative... I'm going to live up to my username from now on
Hope everyone's days have gone well.

HI All! How are you??
smilealot: sorry to hear your having a stressful day. Lots of hugs to you :grouphug:
I had an ok day today, only two calls from HSBC, havent answered still though!!! I got an statement from Halifax and it looks like that they have accepted my DMP because the bit where it says estimated added interest for next month was 0. And the minimum payment on the statement has gone down to what the payment is through the CCCS so thats great news:T
Havent heard anything from Abbey yet though and they are my second biggest creditor! Anyway as we all say no news is good news.
Sea, Glad to see you are back and hope you are ok,hugs to you aswell:grouphug:
