True - but looking at the people who've been on telling us about their eperiences, they've had interest frozen, haven't they? Sorry Kevster - not having a go, just trying to put in all the different issues! :)

I think you've already decided, so I think we'll have to agree to disagree!! :)

wooooooahhhhh hang on - it only covers 2/3s? What about the rest? There's no way they'll go along if you get this loan for one creditor....have they accepted DMP? What have CCCS said? (is that who you're with?)

Hi Kevster, I know it's probably a very un-DFW thing to say, but I would be very tempted by the offer - in fact, in my shoes, I'd probably take it. One of my biggest issues is my credit rating, not for future credit cards and loans, but a mortgage. I know everyone says "say no to credit", but you can still be responsible if you feel you've learned from the experience.

Joek - thanks for the TV programme name :T

Lonely - I'm having the same probs with PayPlan and it's driving me bonkers. I only have a mobile and it's costing me a fotune being kept on hold cos the system doesn't recognise my ID number. I ended up leaving a message with their call back service yesterday lunchtime, and have I heard anything - NO! I'm not sure about the online messenging service either, they have never called me back as a result of using this. Let me know how you get on.

Valley Girl - sorry to hear you're feeling poorly. Did you say is was vertigo? Big hugs.

Winkus - sorry to hear about the panick attacks. I've never experienced them but they seem awful. Let us know if we can do anything to help.

Sea - glad to hear you are back on form - woo hoo :j Teaching was okay thanks, shattered now!

Teecee - I'm sure your garden is looking lovely, you'll need to post a photo on here once it all comes into bloom.

Hi Kelly, rustybucket, dumb debtor, IDA (next instalment tonight :T ), amani, hopeful!, VivCk, Bluediamond, ILGD and anyone else I've forgotten to mention because you are on the other page and I have a dreadful memory :o

    Hi there everyone.

Just a quick one. Kevster, DON'T DO IT! Payplan told me that often creditors will refuse the plan at first, then when they see regular payments coming in, they accept and freeze interest. It depends what your priorities are I suppose. For me it was to pay off the debt as quickly and as cheaply as possible. Yes, I'm taking a risk in assuming that interest will be frozen, and yes I realise the effect on my credit score, but I don't care if it means I will be debt free within four or so years. If they continue to refuse, they will sell the debt on, and the likelihood is that a collection agency WOULD accept and freeze interest. I would at least give it a month or so before deciding.

Smile - ring up Payplan and when you get through to the normal call centre, demand to speak to a supervisor. They kept fobbing me off with this story about the new telephone system they've just put in place, but it didn't make sense. So when I spoke to the supervisor today he basically called me back saying the problem had been that my mobile had not been put into the "home telephone" number field and because this had been left blanked, it was causing problems with the new system. Sounds like exactly the same thing has happened to you. After he fixed it, I tried calling again and it was absolutely fine.

OK, take care for now... L x

    Evening all!!!

Kevstar I think you have already made up your mind and whatever you choose good luck. I have been in the position, being of elder years, to have had a mortgage and I have also rented. In fact when I left my ex I also walked away from £160,000 equity. I am quite happy renting as I do not want the hassle of mortgages etc but I do realise if you are younger these thing are what you should aim for. (Nothing wrong in that at all) I have also been down the consolidated loan route and it was fine until I kept spending on my CC's and thats why I am in the mess I am now.
A loan sounds good ,but its funny, having a debt free day to look forward to in the future, and to be not tempted by the golden challis of credit in the future makes me feel REAL good (Sound like James brown there).

Anyway the reason i came on here was I was feeling all chuffed with myself having sent off the paperwork to Payplan(chest puffed out like Eric Cantona) and thinking that was it. I need to realise I need to put more work into this as they now want statements for the last month Etc, Still you only get out what you put in.

Have a good one. Sorry I cannot enter into the debate into soap hunks as ,being a male,I still hancker after Annelise from Neighbours
