Naah I'd probably only go there as a last resort. She just didn't get it and didn't seem to know much.
From the leaflets it looks like you are meant to make an appointment to open an account.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Just want to say hi Dump Debtor. I am in the same situation as you, not started my plan yet, so sorry can't give too much advice, but I'm sure others will be able to.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Morning Dump Debtor, welcome to our little family!
Many more people will be able to help with advice about a CCCS DMP, but I've had my DIY for two years, and it's working well. I have to say, making the decision to go to a DMP was the best one we could have made, we looked at IVAs and re-mortgageing, but decided it really wasn't for us.
Congratulations anyway for taking that first step

Thanks DaysieBlue, knowing other people on a DMP is a real help. Did you find creditors easy to deal with?Total debt £ 20,000 as of March 07
Trying to get debt free with CCCS:j0 -
Hi newbies - just wantde to say welcome.
Hopeful - MS, Lloyds and Barclays are three of my creditors and I have mixed receptions from them. Barclays great so far - no hassling, two calls and sympathetic; Lloyds also quite good, limited calls, happy to take Payplan ref and leave me alone; Morgan Stanley are AWFUL - trying to push me into making a "holding" payment I couldn't afford two times, telling me DMP wouldn't be accepted, that once account goes to Collections they'll be nothing I can do, trying to wear me down, shouting at me, complete bunch of b******s. But be firm, don't make my mistake of being polite and trying to have a conversation with them, instead be assertive and curt, it will make absolutely no diffrence to the outcome. They have now threatened me with a default, three weeks after I made a late payment - my first and only one!
Dumb Debtor - my experience of starting a DMP has been mixed. Some good days (no calls, nice Collections people), some bad days (mounting interest, default notices, etc.) - but I haven't regretted starting it for one minute. I think the best tip before starting one is to open a new account, change your contact details with all creditors (give one mobile number if you want calls, otherwise give a false one) and have your DMP ref to hand so when people call you just give this and cut the conversation short. Most people are not used to doing this, but trust me it's for the best - the less info they have the less ammunition they can use against you.
Hope everyone is having a good day today. xI'm moving on up now,
Out of the darkness,

Morning everyone and welcome to all of our Newbies..You are in a safe place with us lot !
I know that I mentioned the Financial Ombudsman a couple of weeks ago but I really just want to sing their praises again and say that if there is anyone out there who are thinking of contacting them like I did when Lloyds got too heavy with the calls every five minutes, then GO FOR IT !..
I initially rang them to see what I could do about them rininging us constantly and really making the whole DMP process much much harder. I rang them first thing on a Monday morning and they went through it all on the phone, sent out the forms to complete, nothing major, just getting me to fill out our bank details, account number and what the complaint was. After about 5 days..honestly 5 days, everything just stopped. No letters and more importantly no calls. It was heaven.
When I was on the phoen to them I asked if they could intervene with me reclaiming my bank charges as I had written both letters to Lloyds to only get the stupid standard reply and if you are not happy reply..They said yes we are taking loads of complaints on re this problem and they sent out a form for that too!. Lloyds have paid up over half of the £1900 claim and they are going to be paying the rest very shortly.
Today Lloyds have written saying that they are sorry they had been calling us and now acknowledge that we have been on the DMP with PayPlan since December and they have refunded all the charges since we went on the DMP..IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS IN OUR HOUSE THIS WEEK !
So, if you are thinking about it and/or you arwe being plagued by these idiots that make our life hell some days....GO FOR IT !..We are all fighting back more than ever before and it is evident that the Consumer is at last demanding a fair service...Lets all go and get it !
Good Luck and let me know if any of you do what I have and got a result.
