New Dmp Mutal Support Thread

Morning everyone and welcome Viv!

I recieved my very first acceptance letter today from GE money (Frasercard):j Still got five more to go but no calls as yet which is good.

I also got my CCCS password so now I can keep track online and watch these damned debts go down down down!

Just booked GP appointment for Friday as she wanted to see me two weeks after starting the Anti D's. I'm a week late in seeing her - ooops!!!!

Off now to clean the bathroom and do some hoovering.

Did CCCS tell you what month your plan would start? The template letters just says fill in the month. How long was it between sending the signed form back and getting the slip to pay at the Post Office?

GE rang again yesterday and I said I told you yesterday when you rang that I only got my statement on Saturday and if you waited to give time for payment to clear instead of ringing me 5 times a day when I'm out then it would help.

She said by law they are only allowed to ring 3 times a day so when I asked why there were 5 missed calls from their number she said I must have another account or they must be ringing for another reason. :rolleyes:


Winkus that's great. GE are hassling me and I've not even started the DMP, not missed any full payments just paid two-thirds last month. Hopefully when I get on the DMP they'll be a bit quieter!!

When did you pay the first payment Joe? If you dont mind me asking.

I paid at the PO yesterday. Do you know how long it takes for them to receive it???

It took them about a week to get the welcome pack with post office slip back to me. They said they sent it the same day as they received my signed forms but I got it 6 days later!!!

When is your DMP due to start?

Have you given GE your CCCS reference number? As soon as I did that all calls stopped. They have also been my first acceptance of the DMP so far!!! Infact my Debenhams account went to Viking (ge's debt collection) and they recommended CCCS to me!

Thanks. I did it all online so nothing has been said about when it will start. Thinking of doing it from 1 May, as need a new account set up and wages and OH's savings moved before I do anything.

Still keep trying to work out if there is any other way for me to put it off till June as I don't really want calls all through the month of my wedding anniversary. Then again, sooner I start, sooner I finish.

Thanks Winkus. That's encouraging. Not given them any details just yet, as I've not signed the forms for the DMP yet or sent CCCS all the debt account details. As soon as I get my new account set up I'll sign and send them all off along with all the letters to say contact CCCS. Thinking that in the meantime I'll send them a letter saying I'm contacting CCCS and will let them know details as soon as I have them. Perhaps that will keep them quiet for a bit.

CCCS told me to tell them my reference number to keep them away even before I rec'd ANY forms from them. As far as CCCS are concerned the first contact with them means you are taking those steps. If you did it online you should have a reference number straight away. I told GE that I was dealing with CCCS and here is my ref number. They said they will put account on hold for thirty days and see what they get from CCCS!!!
Hun, tell them the ref numbers and they will leave you alone so you can have a peaceful wedding ann and start being debt free .

Newlywed - You don't have to take the calls, just write to all your creditors quoting your cccs ref number, then if you have caller id on your phone don't answer calls from witheld or 0800 etc.

anymore than 3 phone calls a day you can have them for harrasment
