New Dmp Mutal Support Thread

Well, despite the forum going down and up and down and up, I'm still enjoying the time here at the mo'. Tomorrow should be a day when I do some 'proper' DMP work - hopefully, some money I transferred into my new account will have cleared, I can then sort out the direct debit with those poor !!!!!!s at my insurance company who must think the world's collapsed about them due to me missing my first payment (only by a day or so) with them for 10 years or more...
I might take my own advice, and withdraw the odd 35p from that clothes budget and get a pack of Revels...if only to stop me thinking about them!
So, I bid you all a very goodnight, sweet dreams, and a lovely day tomorrow...
...And even if it's not so lovely, I'll be around to chat to...which - upon thinking about it - might make things worse, but I do mean well!
G'night all!Chuffed to be member 11 on the DMP mutual support thread.

Evening all. God you have all gone nuts :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Well since we are doing life stories:
I'm 35, married nearly 13 years 2 kids - 8 and 4. I'm a Manager and live in NI.
The debt - only you lot know. I hope to keep it that way. I could never tell my OH. How did I get it? Bad money management, buying things I didn't need followed by consolidation after consolidation after consolidation.0 -
Night Scottishmummy, hope all goes well tomorrow.
Night Joek - good luck with the DMP stuff tomorrow.
Hi Ex :hello: I've been bad lately and not been entering my competitions!
Anyway, I'm gonna log off, finish watching Peter Kay and get to me bed.

Well done on your star HUNTERESS :j
Well, im a stay at home mum 40 have 4 kids 14, 13, 2 & 11 months this is my second marriage 4ys now. I live in south yorkshire.
We got into debt through trying to start up our own company when my OH got made redundant. Got ripped off for £5,500 over the internet (buying mobile phones). Also helping OH's family and just trying to keep our heads above water while OH was out of work. We dont have anything to show for it.
I remember galaxy counters I LOVED THEM, i also remember spangles, highland toffee, and does anyone remember the coconut ones that used to be on revels. I also loved toffee crunch, sweet peanuts, yorkshire mixture, satins, chocolate logs and golden cups. I HAVE A VERY SWEET TOOTH0 -
Morning everyone.
Sorry didnt post much yesterday that hour threw me right out!!
Im a 30 year old female from the midlands and i am a stay at home mum to 4 wonderful kids. 3 sons aged 9,10,11 and a daughter 4yrs. I also have a step son 11.
Have been married for almost 7 years to a fantastic guy who works at a car accident repair centre.
I am a part time ebay seller and love cooking and cleaning (mad i know)
We are in debt for lots of silly reasons, the main on being my dh used to be on amazing wages and we just didnt stop spending after his wages dropped and the biggest one being my mother in law paid for us to go to florida in 2005 and although the hoilday was paid for we spent like mad on the credit cards whilst out there!! ( but it was a hoilday i will never forget!!)
Also moved house 3 yrs ago and spent loads on the house. Also kept renewing my bank loan to clear debts i was behind with, and that is now my biggest creditor.!!!
I have been on a dmp for 14 months now, and i have managed to clear approx 4k this year, but still have approx 20k to go.
Catch up with you all later today is bill paying day!!!
donnaProud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
Morning all,
Beautiful weather here today, hope the weather is good with
everyone.:)
Just a little bout myself my name is Ally, I live in Pontypridd in
South Wales. I'm 43 and a half nearly so not far behind you
Yellowmonkey. I'm divorced and I have a 17 year old son Matt
who is my rock. I am suffering ill health and have been for a little
while, when I am at my worst Matt looks after me.
Got into debt and have only been paying the minimum(sp) payments
now my circumstances have changed I can't afford the payments so I am
doing my own dmp. Funny enough I don't have anything do show
for my debt but hey I am going to be positive and do my best to sort
the mess out.
So I am hoping things will get better I am pleased I found this
forum even though I don't post much I try and have a read.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Best wishes

While I'm on, does anyone know the number that creditors need to call to contact Payplan? I can't find it anywhere... Thank you muchly in advance.
Hi Smile,
It's 08456 066 624. They play it at the start of their message when you call up. How have Payplan been with you so far? Everyone seems to be raving about the CCCS, and in my experience so far Payplan don't seems to have the same pull that they do with the creditors. I'm wondering if I should change?
I just wanted to say I feel like I missed out yesterday, just been reading your posts. I would much rather have been on the forum. Instead I had a massive argument with my husband, which turned into world war three. And it all started with him ordering a dessert that I didn't want! Can you believe it? From there it became about him being unable to say sorry, about me making him do everything around the house, about both of us feeling overworked and depressed, etc. I only wish I could tell him what's really worrying me. But after he said that sometimes he feels suicidal too (neither of us do really BTW, it's just one of those fleeting things we say to emphasise how low we feel), I don't feel I can tell him about my financial probs in the near future.
And whilst we are on the subject of life stories, I am 30, married, no children, living in London and working as a PR manager for Microsoft. I hate my job but can't afford to take a salary cut and do something I really love. My ambition is to write a novel and move abroad, and have a big family once I pay off the debts.
