The job application is complete, and I'm feeling quite positive about it all - I even suprised myself by some of the comments on there :rotfl:
I plan to hand it into them on Monday when I make an appoitment to visit the school - I'm thinking it will put me in a better position if it looks like I'm keen.
I'm back following slimming world again, I've been yo-yoing a bit lately so have some set myself a few rules.
1) a food curfew of 9pm - after this time no food will pass my lips
2) I will try and commit to 30 mins exercise every other day to start with, with a hope of increasing this to every day.
3) Use my syns, I have a habit of denying myself nice things such as chocolate and then gorging because I feel I have been denied. I can have upto 15 syns a day so I will use them.
4) To lose 1 stone by the 19th July.
I have already lost just over 2 stone, and I know how much better I look and feel for doing so, so will try and keep hold of this feeling for more motivation.
Plus I have my first night out planned on 2nd June and would like to look and feel better than I do now.
On the MSE front, things are ticking over nicely, spent a bit more than I meant to in Mr T's yesterday but will try and commit to a few NSD this week.
All in all, feeling quite good about things

I came home from work last night to find a letter from a bailiff. I t was adressed to the ex and myself (but in my maiden) name from the council for unpaid council tax
Now I have been married for over 4 years, and we moved away from the council demanding the council tax over 6 years ago. I really cannot remember not paying any council tax that and rent were the only bills we really stayed on top of
There is a mobile phone number to contact, and the delightful bailiff has added his charge of £18 to the bill so I think I may well try and get this sorted today. Whatever happens thats another £600+ added to the debt, so bang goes my revised DF date
I obviously haven't got the £600 so this will be going onto my mum's credit card. I don't want a visit from the bailiff when I'm in the house on my own with the girls.
Going to the vets later, one of the kittens has got a weepy eye, plus I need to get them their injections. I've budgeted £100 so hopefully won't go over this amount. I feel bad saying I can't afford an old council tax bill when I'm shelling out for the kittens, but I had no idea I owed any outstanding council tax.
Hey ho, keep on plodding....0 -
Just wanted to say hi and that you are doing really well. It must be a bad situation with the bailiffs, can completely understand why you dont want them in the house, and as for the kitten, so you should be shelling out because they are important too, so dont feel bad about it. I hope it wont use up all the £100, think our vets would charge for the appointment, then the drugs and I would have thought it would be less than £100. There are many benefits to having pets, kittens will be good for stress relief, bond you as a family etc, so see it that way, you're being a responsible pet owner.0

Blimey had a right expensive day today
A trip to the vets for my little ladies (originally thought they were boys so having to think up new names in the process) £123 down after jabs and a once over by the lovely vet
Also popped into Morrisons after work as I needed some bits for tea. Another £10.89 gone - and tea wasn't all that nice after all that.
I'm trying to decide whether to join the vets scheme and set up a d/d to cover the bills. £19 per month gets me 2 checks per year and 10% off all treatments. I've asked over on the pets board, as I'm really not sure if this is worth while or not.
I'm going to have to shell out another £108 for having them neutered, plus a further £40 to have them chipped, so I will save £14 not really a great deal, plus I have pet insurance to think about
But they are worth every penny, the vet said how lovely they were and they were so well behaved having their injections. Plus my DD's adore them, and they deserve a little bit of happiness after the terrible year they have had. I will have a sleep on it and call the vets tomorrow.0 -
I have decided not to go with the vets scheme, I will go to the kittens secod jabs appointment in 2 weeks and pay the difference of the 10%. I will get pet insurance for them set up and this should cover anything like this.
Finally got the mower fixed and managed to cut the back lawn yesterday, it was turning into a jungle so really glad to have got that done. It hadn't been done since the ex left, so was a bit of a challenge but felt very good having manaed it on my own.
Food shopping planned after work, I have my list and my meal plans and am determined not to go over budget. Have been paid today so want to keep the money in there for as long as possible and aim for a few NSD this week.
I have really taken my eye off the ball in the debt busting, everything has been paid but I have not made any over payments to the credit card this month
I'm planing my first night out at the beginning of June, so am treating myself to a haircut - my first this year so will less money to play around. But at least I have something to look forward to for the first time in ages, and you always feel so much better with a hair cut.
Going to the pub this afternoon with my mum, and she is treating me to a basket of scampi and chips - don't you just love pub grub!! Looking forward to enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend.0 -
Another weekend spent in the garden.
I love where I live to pieces, lovely semi-detached in the middle of nowhere with beautiful countryside around me for miles. But my garden is massive!! I spent yesterday afternoon strimming and mowing the front, then most of today cutting the back. I'm very proud of how it looks at the moment and feel I've done a good job. In the process of being gardener of the year I'm a complete muppet and have managed to get sunburnt! Its just started to ache now so will need to dig out the after-sun in a bit.
Have also done a bit of number crunching this evening, have paid another another £100 off of the Bcard and at the same time have managed to bring my overall debt to under £17K :j Still have a long way to go, but the small things like this keep me going.
Have taken advantage of ebay free listing and have put on another 5 things. Mainly summer clothes so hopefully will have some interest over the next week if the good weather continues.
Feel totally stuffed, enjoyed a lovely BBQ at the parents this evening, now to go catch up with Starlings and tackle the ironing. WHY does Monday seem to come around so quickly

Thanks for reading PLMBL!
I have just placed an online order with Mr T for tomorrow, so this does not interfere with my grocery budget for May and I can say I actually have £19.10 left over in the budget :rotfl:
I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow in preparation for a night out on Saturday so the excess can go towards this.
I haven't been as strict with my spending diary this month so will get back into it for June, gosh can't believe we are into June already - this year seems to be flying by.
Also got my head back into losing weight again, lost 3lbs this week although I can't really put it down to being a good girl. My brisk morning walks must be doing something...
Will tally up my debt busting for May over the weekend and report back. I already know I have paid off over £300 to my Barclaycard, so only have just over £250 to go - if I can clear this by the end of July I will be a happy girl

Whoops.... Not posting on my diary has lead to me falling off the wagon.
I have £7 in my bank account, have had a very expensive week. I spent £60 on having my hair done for my night out, said night out cost £40 in drinking far too much. Cue hangover the next morning and feeling too ill to cook anything so another £20 spent on take away pizza.
I have also started smoking again
I was good up until the alcohol took over, then I brought a packet and smoked that, so I'm now on my third packet this week which makes another £21 spent on fags - bleurgh
I need to sort things out, I've really slipped so need to claw it all back. I'm at work at the moment but tonight I will total up my debt busting totals for May. June hasn't started out so hot, but I am back and fully committed to bringing my DFD down. To be in debt for another 5 years is so soul-destroying.0 -
I thought I'd return the favour and subscribe to your diary.

How's your day going? Try not to beat yourself up too much on the spending, the money has gone now, so focus on what you can do to be super thrifty with the rest!
Sorry to hear about the situ with the ex, but you are doing all of this on your own and you should be proud of that
As for that person at work, what an absolute  she absolutely doesn't get the point of benefits! You need them, that's the only reason you get them. I'm pretty sure you'd much rather be in a situation where you don't need them! I hate being taxed, but I'd much rather live in a country where those taxes go towards helping people than a country like the US where there isn't a proper welfare policy. Some people!
I am the same when it comes to hangovers - pizza all the way, but they are expensive so I've taken to filling the freezer with them - "just in case" :rotfl:
I must say I'm a bit jealous of you living so close to your mum and nan, I wish I did. If it wasn't for the OH, I would do.... Men, eh?!
