....has anyone answered the question as to whether you can get your mum to take out the cover - get the satnav - and then cancel after a few weeks?
I could do with a cheapo satnav......and also a translator to some of these respondants
Have cancelled the policy after one £6. payment, (after receipt of voucher), and told them over the phone that I had cancelled as the policy did not fit my criteria, there was no problem and I even received a letter confirming cancellation of policy.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -

Could someone help me get tomtom on this?
thanks!0 -
This "scam" works like a charm. Signed my Dad up online about 6-7 weeks ago, first payment came out about 3 weeks ago, received voucher in the post this morning and picked up the sat nav from argos this afternoon. Direct debit is now cancelled and the sat nav works beautifully.0

Like everyone else I got the policy docs with the request to wait patiently.
Well, it got to the THIRD DD payment and I just could not be bothered any more.
I cancelled it.
And no, I did not chase them for it. The reasoning being that if we all did that then they might get an idea what is going on.
You win some and you lose some, and I have better things to do than pick arguments with insurance companies about their 'free' gifts. Anyway, they might remember me when I have some serious business with other policies.
Maybe another time Martin eh?

Of course they know "what is going on"!!! You should have phoned them and reminded them of their promise on the leaflet that came with the policy. Then, if you didn't receive anything, go ahead and cancel. Never heard of a Company that doesn't make mistakes!!0
