Hi Observer, it's so good to see you again...so good I forgot about it yesterday! So sorry, but I'd already written one post out and lost it!!! Anyway, as soon as I saw your post I remembered all the help you gave on SPC 4, for that you earned a star! :staradmin
No fear about them filling the pages though as I won't be giving out THAT many.
Hi Sue,
No problemI too have been having problems with writing posts and losing them - I have given up and now write them on word or something first and copy it onto here so I still have the words if something happens! However it does cause a few probs with the formatting - for some reason every line has at least one space missing - only been a problem since the site changed layout. But never mind, not a major problem
Anyway thanks for the star much appreciatedI'm adding it to my sig thou lol x And your nice words have made me think I should pot something....so £1.02 into the pot. Have a lovely evening

Hello again all Sealed Potters! Thanks for letting me join the gang!
My potting has been going pretty well recently, plenty of change going in and none of it has been missed. Getting quite addicted to this whole thing, in part thanks to the enthusiasm on this thread. It's good as it means I'll have a nice full pot at the end of the year, but I do wonder what's going on when I start thinking in shops "If I use a note I'll get a nice selection of change to put into my pot" rather than using the change I already have and having none left! Also found 21p roadkill today which is my best day yet!
Now, I have a confession to make. Today I did what I told myself I wouldn't do, and that's open my pot, I feel like I've let this whole challenge down. I couldn't resist anymore knowing how it was going - I used to collect change in a mug and find it very relaxing counting up every now and then and watching the total rise, so it's a case of snapping and needing to know what was inside that thing today! The good news was it's going very well in there, with nearly £70 potted and plenty of space for more. Now I wish I hadn't ruined the suprise. My partner told me off, and I have to go and buy a new tin! Oh, and I cut my hand quite badly on the exposed tin edge, which I think is very much a lesson learnt! Once it's all in a new tin it won't be happening again - I've realised how awesome the suprise would have been if I'd left it till I literally couldn't fit another coin in.0 -

Get a big roll of sellotape, get OH to hold the lid on and wrap cellotape round and round the edge, its a darned sight harder to get it back off than get a tin opener and open a new tin (i should know I did it last year after having to raid the pot, took DH and I over 20 minutes to get that bloomin cellotape off, we nearly resorted to a hack saw  did end up using a kitchen knife though) AND you can then pot the £1 you would have spent on a new tin

Mortgage today = £161,690.76
300 271 payments to go.House buyout fund £21,000/£40,000

Found what I think is a 2p in roadkill today, but it's vey mucky/rusted. Any suggestions on how to clean it?

Try tomato ketchup. Cover it with the ketchup, leave for a bit (10 mins maybe) then scrub a wee bit!Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
