Splendidly put, Ruth!!!! Yes, you've earned your 2nd star. :staradmin

Congratulations on passing your test!!! Life's passport to so much independence...after you've bought the care..paid up the insurance..and (if applicable) the tax! Always travel safely!

Well as you can see from my sig i have bought a car and got insured! But at least i havent got in debt :) I had £2400 saved, i found a car i liked, the insurance was just shy of £1,200 so when i went to see it i told the lady i would pay no more than £1,200 (nocking £300 off what she wanted) She eventually accepted so i'm all up and going now :)

Potted a little bit last night. Will be banking as much as possible this weekend so will update my sig then :)

Thanks for the star Sue - they are in pride of place for all to see :)

  • Away to do my Kate Winslet impersonation on a north sea ferry today :D- over to Belgium with DH for beer and Moules Yum Yum. Decided to take a picnic (with wine!) for the ferry and pot what we would have spent in the restaurant. We are visiting friends, staying in a youth hostel and popping over the border to France to fill the car with enough cheap vin to keep us going for the rest of the year! (Good job its an estate car!!) At E1.60 a litre for our favourite merlot we will be saving the cost of the ferry at least:eek:. Back next Thursday.....

I think this will be our last fling for a while - I'm expecting my notice from work on my return. Its been threatened since December but finally looks real as they sent me an estimate of redundancy this week (less than 3 months salary). :(

Will do what I can to drink the belgian beer lake
I have a portable sealed pot which I am going to take with me... just in case I get withdrawal symptoms.:rotfl:

Happy potting everyone...... see you next week!

No Ruth, you forgot to put about your car on your sig, it comes to something when my stars are worth more than someone's 1st car!!!!:j
What a price for insurance though!!!!

Hi Observer, it's so good to see you again...so good I forgot about it yesterday! :o So sorry, but I'd already written one post out and lost it!!! Anyway, as soon as I saw your post I remembered all the help you gave on SPC 4, for that you earned a star! :staradmin

No fear about them filling the pages though as I won't be giving out THAT many. ;)

Have a great time in Belgium, Kylie! Good idea about the picnic too, though sincerely hope your wrong about getting your notice! :(

Oh dear, what a worrying thing to have to mull over. I do hope you are wrong about redundancy but try to put it out of your mind for now and enjoy your break anyway. Have a Belgian beer for me too please:beer:
Well dear FiL's party went very well yesterday despite most of the guests having the lurgy and coughing/sneezing/sniffing at regular intervals. We put the all the healthy guests at one end of the table and the poorly ones at the other :) In the end we didn't need sue-uu or LC or jakesmum to make up the numbers 'cos little GS was off sick too and sat in the spare chair (instead of the teddy) to make the numbers up to 14 (phew!)
FiL had a big floaty balloon with 90 on and lots of useful pressies like kettle, toaster & clothes. He was thrilled with all the attention too so all the planning & cost was well worthwhile. I rang him this morning and he's still talking about it and planning his 100th with his telegram from the Queen
I was sorry to hear about you being so poorly nu1isit? but this bug going round is horrendous. Hope you both feel much better now.

Have a lovely day everyone and a big welcome to any newbies X
