My total from June to now, so 23 weeks of the great Sealed Pot Challenge in 2012 is £127.21. I'm really pleased with it, so thank you for running the thread. I will definitely be doing it again from tomorrow! Well done everyone.
    Better is good enough.

Whichever way you look at it, peaceandfreedom, given all you've been through you've done exceptionally so please, please shrug off that bit of disappointment and spend the rest of the day patting yourself on the back, you deserve that!!! :T

    Thanks, Sue, I'm happy. :D

Ok then, so your Target's set and to realise it you'll be needing to save £20 a week, do that and you'll be over the moon, anything less though will still be one heck of an achievement! :grinheart

Yes, it's a tough target but nothing ventured, nothing gained. :p Shockingly, Christmas tends to cost us about £1000 every year, mostly on the kids' presents but also other presents, food, booze, going out etc. So it would be good to have the jar's contents to cover it.

We'll see how it works out.

Meanwhile - CONGRATULATIONS to everyone, no matter how much your pot added up to - it's all brilliant. :T

    Good morning everyone,

Struggled to try and pry out the cash, but have been pretty good about keeping an accurate total. I may have to gatecrash jakes-mum or Sue to help me. I have decided to keep the pot going for SPC6. So, my total is (drumrolllllll) ...

    £1000.00

Thank you so much to all you lovely people on this thread and for making me laugh on a daily basis. A special thanks to Sue for running this incredible forum and to our resident auditor, sparky.

jakes-mum, congratulations on becoming debt-free. Well done.

Also, congratulations to everyone on your savings. Absolutely mind-blowing!

I am inspired for SPC#6. Without all of you I would not have any savings today, so thanks to all of you for keeping me on track.

:j Absolutely brilliant, Susanne!!!!!!!!! :T I find it quite shocking to think what we'd have nigh on thrown at others IF we hadn't been merrily stashing cash away. Well done you for keeping that from perhaps being frittered away. SPC 6 it is then. :D

Ere sparky, I like your new title of.....resident auditor! That suits him quite well actually, Susanne.

Hi leictina and good for you in just saving the smaller stuff, amazing how it adds up through the year! Well done!!!!!! :T

Thank you Sue & Sparky for looking after us, without you I would never have started saving.
I'd also like to thank everyone who cheers our days up by posting on here, especially J-M & LC2. Well done on becoming debt free Jakes-mum.
Hugs for those who have lost loved ones and anyone else who needs one.
Congratulations to all for your savings, however much it may be.

  • I joined this challenge very late in the year so when curiosity got the better of me I opened my pot. Pot isnt really sealed just an awkward sheep shaped money box that is plain difficult to open!
Was very suprised to find £9.32 which is being left in there ready for next year.
