Hi honey10 and welcome to the best thread on MSE
Have a read of post 1 on page 1 that will tell you all about how we do things. Our boss Sue-UU will give you a number, and our counter-upper sparky will be really happy if you put that number in your signature 'cos it helps him at the end of the year.
Enjoy saving, congratulations on the wedding - oh and avoid jakes-mum and LC2 they're trouble :rotfl:
Have I earned a star now Sue? :rotfl:

  • I now know what my money will be spent on if its not all swallowed up on Christmas...... In April i have to tax, service, mot and insure my car....... i'm estimating it will cost about £2,000 :( better get my savings head on......

Potted £14.50 this month. With 6 birthdays in September and 3 Birthdays and a wedding (not mine) in October, i dont see it rising much more before November :( Still, i am going to seriously buckle down. My biggest offence (i think) is paying £1.90 to go park in town just to buy a sandwich :embarasse. Meaning my sandwich is costing over £5:o...... I will go back to making my own dinners...

    Welcome new people

I hope you are all happy xxx

Well I bite the bullet and counted my two pots (owl head and cats head) and got a total of £350 and popped this into the savings account along with £156 from the fleabay sales so that makes a total of £874.

Sue-UU - my exchange student is a 16 yo german lad from Berlin and hes staying for 10 months (but going home at christmas) his emails show that he is an intelligent young man and I think he has a couple of mates coming over as well so at least he has company. Not sure what he will make of a couple of bikers!! no doubt he will soon find out!

Hi mishmogs and congratulations on your saving so far!!!!! :T Yes, if I were you I'd definitely bank it, makes perfect sense.

WOW!! You're in for a lovely spell with your German lad, and by 16 he's probably fairly fluent with English so no problems there then! His English will probably be sooo good when he does his exams that he may get better grades than some of our youngsters. That's what happened to a friend of ours when they had a lovely German girl for a long-term stay, she got A for English while Emma got B!!!!
Have potted £9.28. Change from the last few days.

Well done, Kerry! You're doing so well.

Good for you with the cashback, little_sweetie, it all helps!

Thanks a lot for the giggle LC 2, you do mkae me grin with your he said I said commentaries. I missed the vouchers bit tother day, well done! Actually, thinking on it, you can have a star as both posts are pretty good. Here's another to polish :staradmin

One for you too, Ruby for a lovely welcome :staradmin

A £5er for a sandwich, Ruth????? I hope after costing you THAT MUCH it wasn't mouldy!!! :rotfl: Why not take your own and save the CP money & sandwich cash?!

"slanderous comments"? jakes-mum!!!! No one said a word, though they'd have had good reason :p ooops, oh yes Ruby did. :o
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. For those watching the Paralympics, enjoy it all, I know we are.

    hi all
thanks for letting me join your club :-)
I've edited my signature, but i've asked to join the virtual one too, so I presume thats different?
I'm very new (and very bad) at this whole saving thing, but i'm hoping to get better lol.

With the wedding and going back to proper college, I'm going to have to get good, and fast, so any tips are really appreciated :-)

Just back from shopping with DH very stressed could do with a lie down but will have to make do with a cup of tea. bought the lottery and got a scratch card and won £10 :T:T
He must have asked 50 times on the way home if we were sharing and was most put out when I said NO!! does he ever go halves paying for the lottery NO If I had won £20 then yes I would share but a tenner no way !!! does he share every little win he has at the bookies no course not!! Fair enough he shares big wins but this is a tenner!!! He was really put out just like a little boy who didn't get any sweets. Told him already treated him to cinema and meal out this week what more does he want. Answer my £5!!!

I will be nice and buy him a bar of chocolate and pot my £5
