That's fantastic lozzy! What a lovely goal to work towards
Well Callie I was planning to put my money away into a rainy day fund but things have been so tight this year that I will probably need it for Christmas. If you can put half into a savings account then that's a brilliant idea. It will be there should you need it later on.
Welcome back sparky! Glad you had a super time but we missed you sooo much. Even LC2 & jakes-mum have been behaving themselves :rotfl::rotfl:

Hi CallieHolmes
I am saving up for a new fridge/freezer when my pots full, I bag it up and pop it into my slush fund account at the bank and start again. Need to empty the pot again and I think I am nearly there but will carry on saving.

Hiya sparky! Good to have you back and to know you've both really enjoyed yourselves. Are you back to OT again now? So, I guess you didn't seem much, if any, of the Olympics. Twas really fantastic and so much more than I'd honestly thought it would turn out like. We just miss it like mad.Well, we finally plucked up the courage to visit a mortgage advisor. We weren't surprised to hear that OH can't get a mortgage at the moment due to his credit record but were very surprised to find out that I can get one in my own right! We just need to double our deposit first... so we are going to save like mad, we're so desperate to move out and OH is finally on board and saving too!
Apologies Janey, I didn't see your above news yesterday. Congratulations to you both, I'm so very pleased for you...that your OH is with you on saving so much too! It'll happen soon enough, Janey, be patient :grinheartSusanneCape wrote: »I hope everyone enjoyed the closing ceremony. I watched the fireworks from across the river and it was awesome. I feel a little let down now, nothing decent to watch anymore. I really got into sport over the past 2 weeks which has inspired me to take a longer walk to the train station in the morning. I't worth a try even though I will never (sob) get legs like Kate Moss!
Wasn't it just amazing, Susanne! Almost the entire 16 days was like a gift to the nation....and now DH is watching ruddy Lewis!!! Keep up the walking, Susanne and pop the cash in your pot! As for having legs like Kate Moss - she probably wishes she was like you, normal.CallieHolmes wrote: »So what's everyone doing with the money they save? Just spending it on Christmas? A good idea, Callie, DH & I save ours for holidays as we seem to manage ok at Christmas, as long as we're careful.
A good idea for your DH to have varifocals, little_sweetie, we've both got them and they're so much better. Give him a get well soon hug from me.
Well done with your SPC No, lozzy, it's spot on. You've got a wonderful reason for saving, all the best to you both.jakes-mum wrote:*whips her top off and waves it round her head*
Put your flipping top back on, jakes-mum! Lets have some decorum on the thread. ooh I can imagine just how excited you all are, lovely to have something to look forward to. BTW, do kids, or anyone, really need passports to fly up to Scotland?
Hi skilly, good to see more of you lately and well done with the savings.Have a goodnight, everyone and a good, though wet, day tomorrow.

Thanks Sue! We worked out it should take 11 months  but we want to get there as quick as possible. My sealed pot received a huge boost yesterday when OH gave me his change pot to add to mine. He's had it for years and doesn't really add to it and can't be bothered to bank it. He thinks its got over £40 in it!"It is often said that before you die your life passes before your eyes.
