When I first saw kk I thought it was a mistake. Then I kept on seeing it. I don't even get it! If you're abbreviating ok to one letter then 'k' is the only way you can shorten it surely? Or does the other 'k' have another meaning?

    What does kk mean??

    Happy moneysaving all.

It means ok - I think using kk is trying to double the emphasis. Like teenagers do when you ask them to do something, ok! ok!, without really meaning it!

Im not keen on "supper" either.

A friend always invites people round for supper meaning she will cook.

To me "supper" is something you have before you go to bed.

Must admit I'm guilty of 'crossing my 7's'. We were taught to do this in school maths class, so there was no confusion when marking our papers.

The other one that drives me mad is the question 'where do you stay?'

If you would like to know where I live, then ask me my address. I think this is a really regional thing, but oh my word, drives me round the twist.

I agree with you, but in some areas of the country supper is the name of an evening meal, whereas in others it is dinner or tea.

I usually use the following terms

Breakfast - I think everyone agrees with this, though at weekends I know some people have brunch.

Midday meal - dinner (to me it is dinner time - at schools they have dinner ladies, don't they?)

Evening meal - tea (it is served at tea time - for me anytime between 5 and 8! )

    Snack before bed - supper

On the news the other day they reported about a police raid at 3am in the morning....of course am is in the morning!!

This is something I now do quite often. For 2 reasons:

    1) You'd be amazed how many people don't read things fully, miss the am/pm, and then ask if it will be morning/afternoon/evening. THAT really irritates me!
    2) A lot of correspondence I write/send is to non native English speakers. I've often found that they are unaware of what am and pm are, and what they stand for. So I put the am in there, and add 'in the morning' to be clear, and also so that they can learn something new about English IF they want to.

I'm not a big fan of chillax. I now pretend I don't care though, otherwise OH will drop the word into every sentence whilst giggling!
