Question ladies, has anyone tried the M&S body butters? The Vannila Sugar one smells great but I'm trying to resist as I'm overwhelmed with body butters at the moment!
In other news, I picked up my Secret Easter Gift from the post office! Thank you secret Easter bunnyI've been wanting to try Snow Fairy since I missed out a Christmas

No UU tonight, but did remember to use my foot butter first time this month. Cancelled my nail appointment I was going to on Wednesday, most of them have broken and don't see the point in getting them done in their current state. Plus it will save me a bit of money. I'll keep using nail Strengthener and hopefully they will be better by next month.0

For the ladies - have you tried a mooncup for that TOTM? I've always wondered if it is as good as it says it is, cos I probably would save money with it, but is too expensive if it ends up being rubbish!

I would have used these if I'd known they existed 20 years ago. I had a very early menopause about 10 years ago.
A couple of years ago I read a book by Kate Lock called 'Confessions of an Eco-Shopper: the true story of one woman's mission to go green' which described their use in depth. Apparently they really work extremely well and the general consensus of opinion was that they should be used far more widely. The book is still in print so you may be able to request it from your library.
Ironically the book's most valuable contribution to me was in persuading me to switch to Yorkshire Tea (which isn't Fairtrade) as the author reckons only Clipper comes near it... And she is right.
Forgot to do a multi-quote for this, but I've used a couple of M&S body butters Dollypop The texture was gorgeous. I wasn't so keen on the smell of Sicilian Lime after using it for a while though. If you have others to use though I'd try and be strong.
(Vanilla Sugar, hmm... Sounds great!)
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Emsjune, have you tried bio oil on your face? I find it quite soothing when my skin gets annoyed. Think Clinique also do a moisturiser targeted at this sort of thing.
I will be in the vicinity of Reddish this weekend, in Heaton Mersey, so if I see somebody staggering out of Boots in the Trafford centre loaded with toiletries I'll know that it's you!
I've got some UUs:
Bliss lemon and sage body butter. Bought as part of a set with the shower gel in the Debo's sale in January. Smell is lovely and it sinks in well, probably because it seems to have quite a lot of coconut oil in it. However, I WNBA despite this because if you buy it singly it's £21 for 200 ml. It's nice, but not that much nicer than other things that cost a lot less. Enjoyed using it though.
Toni & Guy dark brunette conditioner. Bought from Home Bargains, how I love that shop. Suspect its presence in HB indicates that it's been discontinued. It was really nice, had an unusual but very clean smell. It looks weird coming out of the bottle because it's light brown. I WBA if I saw it but wouldn't pay loads for it.
L'occitane lavender hand cream. I keep it on my desk at work. I was really sad to finish it, I love this stuff. It has been the saviour of my hands during the cold weather and smells gorgeous. I WBA when I have made more of a dent on the hand cream mountain.
Happy Easter everybody. I give up chocolate for Lent every year, have done since I was little, but it never gets any easier. So I shall be looking forward to using up some Easter eggs!0 -
With regards to bottles which are too tough to cut open with scissors, I had this problem a while back with a giant bottle of Veet which I knew there was a lot left in but wouldn't come through the pump anymore and plastic bottle way too thick to squeeze, cream too thick to pour out etc. My solution was to saw it in half with a bread knife, however if you try this approach please be very careful, I don't want any missing fingers on my conscious! :rotfl: Was loads left and did the whole of Mr Ems back, the hairy article
Looking forward to a lovely long weekend, visiting my sister's in Southport and will probably also make a trip to Reddish where my OH is originally from - no doubt may have some IN as a result of some shopping along the way but will try and keep them to a minimum! Enjoy your weekend everyone and fingers crossed the weather remains better as it has been here today.
Ems
I get MrM to cut open any tough bottles and he's been known to use a hack saw before now. Echoing Ems, I'm not encouraging this. :rotfl:
I live in Reddish. Cue the song *It's a small world after all* Southport is prettier though. xL'occitane lavender hand cream. I keep it on my desk at work. This is my HG hand cream and I am going to try and just keep repurchasing this although I do want to try the Leighton Denny one as it has white mulberry in it which my favourite hand lotion contains (Molten Brown white mulberry).Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I forgot to mention my first UU of April:-
15ml tube of Elemis Pro Collagen Oxygenating Face Mask. WNBA. I have another tube of this in my stash which I'll probably save for my hols now (travel size mentality again). I've had a few tubes of this product due to them being heavily featured in QVC TSVs and other kits and have seriously never found that it did anything. However, when I was tidying the bathroom the other day I noticed the tube still on the side cut in half for me to finish off. To get rid of it I used loads - it was literally caked onto my face and I finished it off on the backs of my hands. My face has felt really smooth since removing it so it goes to show that it takes a lot of product to get a result. I therefore wouldn't bother to buy this again due to it not being very economical to use. ie I get better results form the Decleor one I use and only need a thin layer of.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge.
