If anyone is so inclined, the entire bank holiday weekend is a 'free listing' weekend on ebay, so a great time if you want to be able to sell off some of the stash at a price higher than .99 p. :)

Today I ordered l'occitaine's facial serum and moisturiser, this was a planned purchase since I had nearly run out. Pleased though since I for the first time ordered it online from D-hams with free delivery and got an extra 10% off so saved £5.20 plus £4 bus fare and got beuaty points as well.

One UU to report as well, Oral-B Pro Expert toothpaste. I bought this when it came out last year. I much prefer using colgate toothpaste so wont buy again but I have several sample sizes left of Oral-B's so will have to use those up.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j

Have been very good on the toiletries front today. I have one the usual cleansing, moisturiser, serum etc, plus feet and have used a face mask (the sachet was quite big though so not a UU). I haven't bought anything today either partly due to taking the dogs on a trip to the beach, they really enjoyed it but are shattered now. I did manage one UU as well.

UU - Monu Soothing Touch Recovery Balm 5ml - WMBA really loved and skin looks great, I've added to my list of possible future purchases, still working through my stash though and have loads of other items to try.

I have noticed this week that my skin as really improved, and am very pleased.

first UU of the month :) IWBA - it was Avons Sugar Plum shower wash. it smelled soooo lovely and lathered well. Hopefully it will still be around when my stash is used up lol.

Hoping to do a boot sale next weekend and get rid of a fair amount of toileties then if i can. April will be a great month!

    Today's UU:

    Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream

I really did like this cream a lot. It was not too heavy on me, and it really did keep my skin moisturised all day long. I just got the benefit skincare to try, but I may bounce back to this afterwards. We shall see :)

This is my HG cream and I've been using it for about 8 years. I really see a difference if I don't use it. In all that time I have never paid the full RRP for it so if you do decide to go back to it have a shop around.

Yes, I'm going to list some items - will have some cosmetics to re-list. Have had a bad experience over the last week with someone who decided they wanted to cancel their bid because (by their own admission) they didn't read the listing properly. So annoyed that Ebay's viewpoint seems to be that the customer is always right! x
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

    Hello ladies,

First of all I'm in for April!

I haven't gone completely awol, just haven't been able to keep up with the thread as usual. OH & I are off to NZ in one week, ONE WEEK! We're going for a month, I've never been away that long and have only 20kg of lugagge, you can imagine the dilemma.

My toiletries have been organised for weeks -all travel sizes carefully measured out to last me, so I am expecting to return with very little.

Haven't even had many UUs, they've all come along at once:

Sanctuary body wash 75ml & body lotion 75ml. Have many more of these in stash! Nice products, but I prefer the body butter to the lotion.

LE Skin tonic - this has been my HG for years and am down to my last bottle now. Think I'll have a break from it when I uu the next one.

Aldi Lacura face serum 50ml. WIBA? See below...

My face had strata, like the earth's crust! The serum I'm using, which is Aldi Lacura, smells nice and makes my skin feel smooth but I'm not sure that it's really doing anything so might not get any more serum once it's finished.
Helen - my sentiments exactly. It's a noce product and dirt cheap, but I'm not convinced my skin has any benefit from it? I have a bottle of Sanctuary facial oil to try after our hols, have read rave reviews about it.

Sunshineyday - I love your avatar! It makes me grin every time I see it!

Happy Easter all. To whoever sent my easter gift, I won't be opening it until the end of May when I'm next in England, so please don't think I'm being rude if i don't acknowledge the items until then!

  • Hello,
I found this thread after having a lovely wander through the Forums and just wanted to ask how you all stay organised with the toiletry buying annd how you you reward yourselves for not buying?
I was feeling quite virtuous as I have managed to get my habit under control ( so I thought!) I reguarly give my mistakes/ UU's away on Freegle and buy most of the named brand toiletries in P****land however after checking my toiletry drawer(!) I realised I'm not quite as good as I thought!
How do you get organised ladies and how do you keep track?
Any help gratefully appreciated, I'm starting with the easier things working uup to the big scary financial things!!

Happy Easter everyone and hugs and commiserations to all that need them. LadyM sorry that you have been feeling so poorly, and ValM, rotten luck with the e-bay thing. Rosemary, erghh about the cold sore, I used to get masses of them, about 5 years I spent £40 ish(seemed a lot of money then) on one of the light treatment wands, best move ever, it heals them up more quickly and eventually you get hardly any or none at all, as once the site is healed they do not come back in that exact place.

A few bits picked up from previous posts:- ValM I think I will be joining with with PCMC as my HG, I have a lot of bits to use up, before I go solely with that. LE Instant Boost Skin Tonic will also go on the list.
On the subject of eye creams and serums, I think a lot depends on our ages (I am officialy old!), skin types and lifestyle, when I was younger I couldn't go along with all that layering, just a moisturiser with SPF15, but as the years roll on I wish I had started using an eye cream earlier, only fine lines but I think I could have slowed them a bit, serum wise I started using Boots P&P as soon as it came out and I am sure that was a good move, I try various ones now, but no HG yet. The other point is as we age and need more age defying treatments, we have to layer, as many of the beneficial substances cannot be included in the same formula as an SPF. But on the whole I have to remind myself that the beauty business is only trading on our insecurities and trying to extract our hard earned dosh from us. I once asked pharmacist which ws the best headache remedy, he replied that it was the cheapest one that would do the job effectively without side effects! Sorry for rambling on.

Sanex Dermo Protector Shower Cream sachet: WIBA? Maybe, nothing special.
Boots Cucumber wipes: WIBA? Yes, if they were on a super glitch like last year! Just got the Olay ones left (x2?)
Garnier Simply Essentials 2 in 1 Eye Makeup Remover: WIBA? Yes and already have!
Biore Nose Strips: WIBA? Yes, but the Biore ones are pretty expensive over here; I tend to only buy this brand when away.
