Interesting that article mentions the price of them there as between €1 and €2 - or 4.99 GBP in rip off Britain here if you wish to purchase them on-line: http://www.travelspot.co.uk/product-breathalyser.html
If you sail with DFDS Seaways from Dover (formerly 'Norfolk Line') they sell these (the 'Travel Spot' ones) on-board for 5.99 GBP (around 7.50 EUR). That said, the German Amazon.de site is asking around 12 EUR for them!!
I am a member of the Austrian equivalent of the UK's 'AA', and their advice on this is:
German: Wo erhalte ich ein Alkoholtestset? Die Einwegtests sind in ganz Frankreich in Supermärkten, Apotheken und bei Tankstellen erhältlich (Kosten ca. 1,50 bis 5 Euro).
English: Where do I get the tests from? The one-off tests are available across France in Supermarkets, Chemists and petrol stations (costs approx. between €1.50 and €5.00)
Although I respect the law of the land, I cannot think of anyone who will ever use these - surely if you have had too much to drink you won't be bothered using one of these. Also good luck doing a random search in my car, when I go through a French port I can hardly fit in it myself it is so full - there will probably be an initial purge on check around December but come next summer or the summer after it will be do something better instead.
Where is the L'eclerc supermarket where post #24 got them for €1 EURO (mentioned earlier in this thread?)0 -

Maybe Blue Peter need to show us how to make one in the same way as they did with Tracy Island back when you couldn't get those?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -
