Has anyone previously owned a 6600 (the older model) then updgraded to the 6700?

I bought a DVX-6600 last year and am happy with it so far. Played 99.9% of files, even that I couldn't get my PC to play, only ever had a problem with the picture on one file.

So is it worth me upgrading, or does my 6600 do eveything I'll need anyway?

    Cheers.

A friend of mine has the 6600 and he upgraded and found the 6700 better and played the latest mpeg4.

Went to Asda on Friday night and they have a divx player in for £42. The make was 'Dual' (I think) but didn't manage to get any other details. Did notice that it will play just about anything though.

To make it multi region [REPOSTED]

Turn on the player (make sure there's no DVD in the tray), select the preferences and press 1,3,7 and 9. Then merely select what region you want 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2

I can not vouce whether this works or not, use at your own risk.

  • Appears that MicroDirect are now selling this model at £14.04 (incl VAT)

Perhaps model MX105 is the replacement ?

my local lidl had tons of divx dvd players for £50, it looks quite cool but not slim as this. but it also have a built in card reader and 3yr warranty. the only reason i didnt get it becuase i wasent sure of the kind of firmware support i would get on it and also becuase it was from lidl. me and my uncle have both had problems with our dvd players we bought from there and both were different makes too.

Accept that they are no longer selling it and I wouldnt be at all surprised if it was a pricing error as nobody I have seen sells one that cheap, in fact this is the cheapest I have seen that is for sale.

But go ahead by all means buy one if you can at that price, I no I would :)

  • Huge thanks for this! Fab player, DVD tray a bit thin but o.wise ok. To make it multi-region switch it on with no disc in, press setup, go to preferences, press 1, 3, 7, 9 then use the down arrow to go to region 0. exit setup and you are ready to roll.
