While I understand that nothing has been proven yet, I've seen the infrastructure and resource that has been put in at EDF to fix all of those problems after the admittedly difficult migration of all accounts to the new system. EDF are aiming to be top of the Net Promoter Score system and complaints polls by the end of the year, and knowing what's in place, I can't see why not. I think this is a bold move to increase customer confidence in the energy market, and although it's early to say, if delivered correctly will go a long way!

I've updated your user name for you.

No, you made no reference to that fact at all. Are you posting on here with EDF's official sanction? If so you need to be an approved Company Rep-which EDF already have (though they never seem to appear).

You are big on "transparency" but that is exactly what the new system fails to deliver currently. I was never "migrated", my account first appeared on the new MyAccount system. As recently as mid-February the system produced a direct debit recalculation that was patently wrong.

Among other things "transparency" requires visibility on Edf's assumption of projected annual consumption and clear details of the direct debit calculation. IMO EDF, in its conduct of my account, is in breach of Standard Licence Condition requirements and also certain "Billing Code" clauses.

    Could you explain that pls.

I'm not denying there have been problems with the new system, particularly on the DD calculation, and some accounts not billing on one or more fuels. All I wanna say is that the resource that has been put in to fix these problems will become apparent very soon.

I'm not here in any official capacity, or to be a whipping boy. Just commenting that I see this as a fresh new tariff with a refreshing transparency and openness not normally seen in the energy market

OK, before you go (or are terminated) can you explain why MyAccount direct debit recalculations appear to some to be "random" and to me to be wrong.

not with any authority, so I'll keep quiet about it, so as not to upset anyone.

what I will say is huge resource has been put into fixing the problems that have been generated over 2011 and the system migration, and the fact that there were problems with the billing.

I'll stand here and say, as a consumer though, not someone who happens to work for EDF, that if ANY supplier had brought out this tariff I'd doff my hat to them. To tell a customer as they're signing up to a tariff that there are cheaper ones out there takes balls I reckon, and then not hold them with a termination fee. I hope the other suppliers take a similar stance, then there could be a totally open market with trust (Billing issues aside)!

It's clearly an attempt to take the focus away from their utterly appalling 'service'. Don't get me wrong, as a tariff it seems fine and the no exit fee is very welcome but would anyone be confident EDF can administer such an apparently complex and laborious process as this tariff and its guarantee in any way that was acceptable? 'Trying to run before they can walk' comes to mind but time will tell. At least I've got until August to see how it's going before deciding (not that I'm expecting this tariff to still be available then).

I don't know if you're aware, but if you switch to this tariff from another with EDF, you wouldn't be charged a fee. Obviously you need to do your comparison to see if it would be better for you, but if the tariff not being available then is your concern, that fact may help

Fine. But in the (former) Midlands region, the current Scottish Power fix (albeit with an early termination charge) is 2.5% cheaper than "Blue". Of course that is not "captured".

As to highlighting to potential customers that "deferred discount" tariffs from the usual suspects are cheaper, I think customers are better off without that "advice".:)

It's captured if 2.5% is £52 or more...

I'll try and copy and paste from the EDF Price Promise calculator....

    Launched 27/02/2012
    ScottishPower
Online Fixed Price Energy July 2013

    capped to 30/06/2013
    online tariff
    £30.64 electric cancellation fee
    £20.42 gas cancellation fee

    (Weekly savings) £ 1.27
    (Annual savings) £ 65.89
