  • I can see many traits I had as a teenager in the comments made, I had little respect for my parents, used their home like a hotel, their cars as though they were my own, and borrowed money whenever I had none left, not that I ever paid it back. Unfortunately, I don't think that until you move out of home and start to fend for yourself and live off your own earnings do you truly appreciate your parents, until that time in their eyes you appear to be trying to stop and restrict them from doing whatever they have the urge to do.
    I had a plan..........its here somewhere.

    Hi everyone!

End of school day! Woo. Gosh I was so tired on my way in this morning!! Crazy! Tomorrow I am supposed to have 2 frees, lets hope so eh?

    Right.... first things first....

    Happy birthday to crazychick!
Hugs on their way to....ccstar, scuzz, PauliesGirl... and of course anyone else who needs or wants them!

Rzl, you def have to treat yourself... I always feel guilty about buying myself a treat every now and then (once all of the bills are paid and I've made more of a dent on paying the cc off), but you have worked so hard, you def deserve it!!

Not up to much OSing at the moment as am too tired when I get back from work. It's another 6 day week for me this week- 7 days in a row working if you count my working on Sunday... so this Sunday I am going to have 1/2 a day lazy and 1/2 a day productive and see how it goes! I might start making a list of things to do in the Easter holidays as I'm sure the time up until then will go really quickly!! On Sunday I need to do an inventory of the freezer and cupboards as the next time I will be shopping, it will be online, as I can't stand going to the supermarkets etc anymore and as I am working 6 days a week up until Easter, I can't physically manage most things when I do have a day off!

OH has just text to say that there will be a hot bath waiting for me on my return from work (he is off today) and then I am going to do a really simple dinner, although not sure what yet! I have some sausage crispbakes from my M&S staff shop days in the freezer so either those, or some scampi, with veg and pots :) Either will be yum! I am going to try and make my own sausage crispbakes soon! Am going to make a list of all of the things I want to make/try out in the Easter.. there are so many things though! Crazy!

Anyway, I'd best be off... a hot bath and chill out time is awaiting!

    Love xx

    Good Afternoon All

Not had chance to read thread since this morning, but wil catch up later.

The girls at work decorated my table, had some presents & a bottle of champagne. Very nice surprise

Went to the crem, just made it in time, as the rain came down heavy when I got back to the car.

Came home to open more cards & pressies.

Oh went to fetch kids from school, in the mean time, I had a call from the head, telling me that DS was beaten up at hometime, he got a bruise the size of a 50p just under his right eye. He saw what happened, and stated that my son didnt provoke it in anyway, but will deal with it tomorrow!

Im in too minds like sahmx5 to report it to the police, but I might wait & see what happens tomorrow.

OH made a sausage casserole for dinner, and brought me a lovely cake. No plans for later, I just want to chill out. At least OH tackled majority of the housework whilst he was off today!

    Right, best be off
    Take care all
    Love Emma xxx

PS well done DLB - ANY CHANCE OF A SUB! LOL

I really shouldn't be on here, but really wanted to send love to CCstar and Sahmx5.
Congrats to DLB also - fab achievement.
Moggins - real glad you had a well deserved rest at last. Next decade for the next one eh? Wonder what brought that on? I bet he got wind you were going to spend money on a pamper and wanted it for a new 'whatsit' for himself :D
Catzine - I've frozen them quite successfully in foil. Not quite as good as freshly baked, but a fab standby for impromptu picnics/unesxpected guests.

    At least he works

Mine is a 19 year old FT student but might as well be a part timer. He lives at home and we make sure he is OK but he is driving me nuts, he isn't looking for PT work, stays in bed/home till 11am, stretching to 12pm now, has squandered £2000 of his long term savings for a deposit on his house, on buying his mates. Has an overdraft in his bank account, OK it is free but not very good training for being an adult. He plays too much and isn't taking responsibility for his life and wasting what he has, which we can't replace.

My OH isn't taking charge and when I try to, I am ignored or shouted at. It has been going on for 2 years and I thought once the house was on the market, I could do something about it but as it isn't selling and the interest is waning, I am feeling really low about it all.

They are all the same and it is better not to get upset and argue about it. Say "Dinner is at x time, if you aren't here by y, then it will be plated up (if suitable) or you get yourself something when you arrive" Flat calm voice, no recriminations, no upset. Or "Do you want me to plate you a dinner if you aren't here or will you get yourself something when you want it?"

My DH says will DS be here for "the meal" and I say, pass if he is OK, if not he'll get himself something later, there's food in the fridge.

If they are hungry they will either turn up, eat the plated meal, or cook themselves something. If they are too idle, they will starve.

Sorry in my book being Mum does not mean being a slave, or on permanent call. Mum's kitchen has opening hours, but it available 24 hours for self service.

On my soapbox again, I agree mikeywills, but my Mum's rules were you had to pay back what you had borrowed before you could borrow again. It worked with me so applied with my DS too, and so far so good. Obviously I wouldnt see him in dire straights, but he doesn't know that! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: (or maybe he does really). But I know ranting doesn't work, but bribery and corruption often does!

    Hi everyone.
Happy Birthday Crazychick and hugs to those who need them.
Kept youngest DD off school today as she is still coughing. I'm hoping she'll be ok tomorrow as I will be at w****.
Had a busy day cleaning blinds and most of the house, then made a scrummy ham pasta bake for tea which I need to serve up soon as I keep hearing 'Is tea ready yet?' from the other room!
    Have a good evening.

    Good afternoon everyone :hello:

 Happy birthday to Crazychik

Big (((hugs))) to scuzz - you go girl with your new attitude to life! Can you send some my way, please? Seriously, I hope that it all sorts itself out.

MIL has just been on the phone to say that Hannah (DH's 3 week old niece) is having to be taken to hospital tomorrow because her jaundice isn't disappearing. Not knowing much about babies, this sounds frightening.

I had a lovely day in today's supply school. The children are lovely, on the whole and most said "thank you" and asked me when I'd be back in! Bless them. Tomorrow's work, I'm not looking forward to. I am spending the morning in one school and then at lunchtime it's a mad paniced rush to another school in Peterborough. Unfortunately, the schools have different lunchtimes, so I only have a small window to do the mad rush across town. This will be made triply worse if there's a stack of marking for me to do. I normally do marking as I go around, but there's always some that you HAVE to do after the lesson.

DH is on his way back from Spain, as I type, so I'll have to move back to my half of the bed tonight. :( It was nice being able to sleep "starfish" style (ie taking up the WHOLE bed :D) for two nights. :D

My supper tonight is going to be a healthy chicken salad that I'm (hopefully) going to get ready soon, before my stomach begins to eat itself. :D It's a nice and easy supper, that will require minimal preparation and washing up, but maximum relaxing time. Having said that, I need to send my supply agency and up to date copy of my teaching CV. I'm going to try and get another CV sorted for non-teaching, in case any decent jobs turn up. I'm still unsure as what to do, but at least I can finely tune the CVs and skills that I do have. Do you think that "posting on MSE" comes under "skills" or "hobbies"? :D

Have a good evening everyone

ccstar - we are having problems with our 17 year old DS too at the moment, wasting most of his earnings, stopping up half the night and not being able to get up for work next day and doing absolutely nothing around the house:mad: so you have my sympathy. I think we've spoiled them all!
    Do what you love :happyhear
