sahmx5 wrote:Been to the school. Head of year was extremely pleasant and calm. I was shown statements from several classmates all detrimental to my son. What really upset me was that his friend (who I had spoken to on the phone) was interviewed yesterday and gave a completely different account to the teacher. Certainly it bore no resemblance to the conversation we had on the phone.
She agrees with me that it is the fault of the school for the teacher leaving them all in the corridor for 15 minutes.
The bruise was shown in all its technicolour glory and she was aghast that it was so nasty. She assured me that she would speak to the kickers parents and agreed that I had every right to report it to the police.
We talked round in circles and my son has been put on report, this is mainly to keep him close to the teachers so they can monitor the bullying. I said it was still punishing my son further.
I don't feel I've achieved anything and feel really flat.
Thanks to everyone who sent me good wishes.
I'm going to break my lent rule and eat some chocolate biscuits to make me feel better. I think this qualifies as a special dispensation.

I am so upset for you - (((big hugs)))
You keep at them - schools have a duty to look after children and provide a safe pleasant place for them.
Don't overdo the biscuits, don't let the b'strds drive you to food and get fat!An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

At least he worksLelc wrote:(((((ccstar))))) I sympathise as I have a 21yr old ds who is just the same. Sometimes home for dinner and sometimes not. And he usually doesn't let me know. I try and get a firm committment from him when he leaves for work in the morning (doesn't always work though).
Hope things get better soon.
Mine is a 19 year old FT student but might as well be a part timer. He lives at home and we make sure he is OK but he is driving me nuts, he isn't looking for PT work, stays in bed/home till 11am, stretching to 12pm now, has squandered £2000 of his long term savings for a deposit on his house, on buying his mates. Has an overdraft in his bank account, OK it is free but not very good training for being an adult. He plays too much and isn't taking responsibility for his life and wasting what he has, which we can't replace.
My OH isn't taking charge and when I try to, I am ignored or shouted at. It has been going on for 2 years and I thought once the house was on the market, I could do something about it but as it isn't selling and the interest is waning, I am feeling really low about it all.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

Hey OSers!
Happy birthday CrazyChick!
Thank you to everyone for being so supportive yesterday, it really meant alot to me.
Had to sit through an 'employee cascade' this morning. Essentially all the employees together, and the Rep telling them that their jobs are safe and only 6 of the corporate staff were redundant. and 2 of those were a sham anyway. :@
Put on a brave face and got through it in good humour, but broke down in my office. Rep tried to get Catbert, the Evil HR Director to let me go home, but he wouldn't, so I got someone to sign my holiday form and drove home in a flood of tears.
Now sat forlornly in my PJs at the PC, calling agencies.
Thanks for listening to me rave...
Much love and hugs to CCStar and Sahmx5

Hello Everyone
Had more bad news today, which at first made me really down, but I'm now spinning it to my advantage. Can't say anymore than that really. But I'm going to be Miss Attitude now!!
Just received an invitation for a night out free of charge. So off bowling tonight with my sister station. Then out tomorrow night to kick boxing, with a friend from work. Believe me I need to vent that anger
I'm taking positive action not to let life get me down. I've booked a weekend in London with my friend - mostly free - and I've a ball to go to in a couple of weeks.
This is the new me everyone, I'm going to play the hand I've been dealt and I'm going to do it blo88dy well! I'm not going to let myself be screwed over again.
Happy Birthday to Crazy Chick
Hugs to everyone who needs them. I know how much these vitrual ones help as you guys have really helped over the past couple of daysComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Shez - hate to dissapoint you but Life on Mars isn't on tonight - they said it would be back next week!!! Not sure how I'll cope until then, I'll have to go watch series one again and get my fix.
Math - Magic lanterns and thatch.....you just slow down a bit - you rebel you.
Hugs to the rest of you.
Well I've sat on my backside and done cross stitch for most of the day - I'm so industrious."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Thanks for the welcome yesterday

I'm reading lots and lots, making notes of what to buy on my shopping trip tomorrow, and checking out my store cupboard for what I can use up! Found lots of tins of peaches and tomatoes. Also hotdogs, salmon (yum!) and soup. Have to stock up on pasta, rice, herbs, spices.
Next step is to make a shopping list - something I used to do years ago when we were on a very tight budget, but I've neglected it and let my groceries budget go crazy.
((((((sahmx5))))) How old is your son? It makes me sick that bullying still isn't dealt with properly. My son was bullied but was always the one who got caught if he fought back. Finally the school listened when his school shoes were stolen during a PE lesson, they had to pay for a new pair. It did all stop eventually and my boy is now 17 and far too big to bully! It's heartbreaking to be a parent and see your child suffer though.
((((CCStar))))) I'm with you on the teenagers! 18 yr old daughter spends all her money on texting, doesn't think that she needs to save for Uni (she's going this September, will be living away from home for the first time). 17 yr old son treats the house like a hotel, spends all his money on clothes! You need to do something for YOU.
Back to the shopping list....

Aside from that, my 15 year old nephew needs heart surgery and we found out yesterday that he'll be going into to the Royal Brompton (where my hubby works!)
Haven't finished reading yet but just wanted to say what a fantastic hospital your nephew is going to have his surgery in. My gert, strapping 10yo ds had most of his left lung removed at the Royal Brompton when he was 5 months old. All the staff there made a horrible ordeal bearable.:) Best wishes to your family.

Afternoon everyone
Happy Birthday Crazychick
Hugs to everyone else as it sounds like you need them.
I'm almost afraid to say I have had a lovely day, DH has done both the school runs and let me stay in bed until midday. Then I got up and had a lovely long bath and a pamper session. So everything has been primped and plucked to death and I feel wonderful
I got to use loads of smellies that had been hanging around and now all I have to do is cook tea etc.
We've even had Billy Joel playing on the rarely used stereo at full blast. I love decent music
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things
