  • Hello everyone.

I did the manual today for the engine plant at wolverhampton stadium. I'm a bit worried. The time ran out at the point after i screwed in the large cam on the right hand side. I was just about to start wrenching the screws. Was I too behind?

We were told we'll get an e-mail within 5 days telling us the results? Do you think I made it?

    Thanks.
  • I have seen the 2016 rota for the production line at Solihull. The shifts change from days and nights to days, afternoons and nights from April.

This results in more staff needed per day. So as we need pre assessments and training done before we start, the start dates will be in March to give them enough time to make sure we are ready for the shift change.

And seeing as we all have notice periods before we start, I can only guess we are going to get a phone call at the start of February to give us enough time to hand in our notice to current employers.

    I hope this helps.

I appreciate how big the employment process is but I myself am finding this very frustrating due to the length of time the whole process has taken. And also the lack of communication isn't a help.

Whatever you do, don't expect a reply within 5 days. I waited over a month to receive a phone call telling me I was successful.

I didn't complete the whole process and made a few mistakes during it also, but aslong as you didn't do anything they didn't tell you to do then I'm sure you'll be okay.

HI Noor Khan! Don't be nervous, be confident and just do as your instructed and they will demonstrate it too. Just watch and listen carefully and u will be just fine.

    Good Luck! :)
  • Thanks. How long did it take for them to get back to you after the manual?

Thanks for the info Callumhughes182, was very helpful. Yea the lack of communication is frustrating and I really want to start ASAP. As far as I know I think everyone on this forum wants to start quickly.
  • My partner just received the phone call he's been waiting for months for, Manpower have give him a start date for the Solihull branch :) (Mid-Feb). I wanted to get him some safety boots as a well done and congratulations, but unsure of any specifics i should be aware of ie steel toe? Metal on outside or not? etc... Does anyone have any advice or suggestions please?

when did they phone? i rang them last week and they said they was still awaiting start dates.

when i worked there for DHL all the workers on the line wore trainers i don't think i ever seen anyone wearing steel toe caps probably because you standing up for the whole shift and there more comfortable

    hope that helps
