manual assessment at Jag/Land Rover

Hi everyone, my other half had his manual assessment today after applying and doing the online assessment roughly 6 weeks ago. When he got the call from them it took him by surprise as he'd pretty much given up hope, he almost didn't answer the phone as it was a private number. So anyone who has completed the online assessment but still not heard anything weeks later don't give up just yet. You may get a call from them when you least expect it.
He said he thinks he did pretty well, made a couple of small mistakes but he completed the task and apparently the guy said he did well. They said he'd get an email within the next 48hours, so fingers crossed he will get a call for an interview at some point. I'm guessing the mistakes he made will affect his overall 'score' no matter how small, but he still has a chance of getting the job, right?
He really wants the job, and will definitely be applying again in 3 months time if he doesn't get it this time around.0 -

Thanks0 -
Go on their website, click on 'contact us', then find 'Solihull' from the list of locations and it should come up.0

Hi can somebody help me who is working for land rover pls.
I got interview 2 morrow. I am working already got about 270 weekly, pernament job since 8 years.is it worth to leave it for agency work? Are they giving contract after year? How much weekly i can get from agency without any overtime? What about track work.have you got bit of freedom or just stock on truck.can u use toilet or it s problem couse line running? Can use mobile or problem? Is it really busy job? I got about 18 miles one way then really confuse what to do. Any chance for transfer between castle and solihull.which plant is better to work? Thanks for any help
270 before or after tax? Either way you'll be on more and after a few annual increases of 10% (plus annual pay rise) you will be on a lot more. Think long term. The agency work will become permanent, unless you're a total numpty and ruin it for yourself. 1 year Manpower. 1 year Short Term Contract with JLR. After 2 years you get a permanent JLR contract. Patience is key.
Track work is obviously restrictive. You will get cover to go to the toilet, but it doesn't always come straight away as there may be no one available. That's the nature of the job- you learn to hold it in. If you have IBS, start fasting during working hours!Mobiles are not allowed, unless you have express permission from your management to use them in emergency situations (i.e, if partner is going into labour any time soon). You can use mobiles on breaks in designated rest areas.
Busy job? Depends on where you end up. Intially there is a period you might run around like a headless chicken but you will get used to it and end up finding time. If you end up in the new building in Solihull life for now will be very chilled out. At least until they ramp up the speed of the track. They will make you earn your money soon enough, but you're paid well for it. Transfers between Castle Brom and Solihull are not likely, unless you apply for a position at the other site. Which is better? Too many factors involved to tell.
Only you can decide whether you're willing to give up a job you know well and are paid reasonably well for in order to risk it for a longer commute, shift work, more graft but better finances even taking extra fuel costs out.0 -
Hi all
I did my online test and manual assesment and failed at first interview.
I then completed my online test again 3 months later followed by a second interview and I also failed this.
Manpower gave me feedback from my first interview and told me to go away and improve on these things which I took into account and followed.
All brushed up I went back for second interview and failed. When given feedback I failed for bieng too over confident on the things they had told me to brush up on.
I personally think its just a big lottery as to who you get on the day interviewing you. I have had 2 different people with completely different views of me.0 -
