    Hi all....
On the 18/02/13 I had the "thanks but no thanks" email...
    But now........................

I've received a text from Manpower this morning saying :

    "Dear Candidate,

We have recently tried to contact you (they haven't!) regarding your application for work opportunities with Jaguar Land Rover West Midlands.

You have been successful in completing all assesment stages and we would like to give you the opportunity to attend an interview.
Should you wish to take your application further please reply to this text message stating YES, followed by your full name."

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this text and if it is genuine? As they did say before that they would be in touch in the future... I just didn't expect it this soon.

Sorry for double posting. I received the exact same text and I replied and then a few hours later I got the call for the interview so it's pretty much very genuine :).

Not sure if they mean the Pera Training assessment.

When I had my interview we had the interview, then the drugs testing then had to do a basic maths and literacy assessment to see if anyone would need any extra support during the Training.

If that is what it is then don't worry, it is quite a basic level and doesn't have any bearing on the selection process.

Yes defo on 80% after 1 year if your on 70% now then 90% after 2nd year then 92 % then 95% you will never be on more than 95% of a jag workers wage ;-).. People who started on 80% will be on 80% for second year

Tyseley campus? Me too :D. Mines was on Tuesday (12th)

    Who was your interviewer?

I got an e-mail saying I passed all stages but they never said anything about another assessment. The day I went in however, we were supposed to do this extra training after the drugs test, but the people who were meant to cover that weren't in, so they said we'll do it at during the first week. No idea what this training actually involves. could be the same as the assessment you are talking about
  • There is nothing to stop you getting another job whilst you wait to hear about a position at JLR.

You usually have at least a weeks notice of a start date, so time to hand in your notice on your crappy minimum wage job. ;)
I have no idea how notices work. Some companies demand a lot longer than 1 week don't they? Plus I've read a few posts on this thread saying they've got the job but only if they can make it tomorrow, or within a couple of hours. I think I read 1 poster saying he had to get there within an hour. Kinda ridiculous really :o
