Sounds like one of the good jobs, better than Trim and FinalI believe the first 2 weeks are classroom based PERA training then its 2 weeks on the track then on your final day they will tell you were you will be based.
Gaz
First two weeks are Pera training, but only if starting with a group, or they have a group ready to go (think they need about 20-25 to make the course work). I started mid week and was placed in QC but they had no job for me in the end, so joined a group for Pera the following Monday. Then was placed somewhere different after that.
Good Luck all. :T0 -
Couple of quick questions for those who are working at Jag..
In the email I received it mentions safety boots:
Safety boots are compulsory for all locations, failure to wear will restrict you from the assignment.
Am I able to buy steel toe capped trainers or does it have to be boots?
Also, on the first day I am advised to park in the Opus car..
Please ensure that you park in the Opus car park located on the Chester Road near the Kingsbury Road island opposite McDonalds. Allow at least 25mins for parking. Please do not park in the visitor’s car park as you may be clamped.
I have been looking on street view but cant seem to locate this car park, does anyone know its whereabouts? And why do I need to leave at least 25 mins for parking, does it get excessively busy around that area?
Thanks in advance, I have tried calling Manpower but there doesn't appear to be anyone in the offices today.
Thank you!0 -

Safety trainers will be fine as long as no metal eyelets..as you go past the visitors centre on your left go up to the tyburn island straight over and entrance is first left .. Easy to find and good look !!0 -
Hi Mark, as far as I know steel capped trainers would be acceptable, BUT, make sure that they don't have metal eyelets or anything like that, these aren't allowed in most areas. From the sounds of it you may be working with finished vehicles, costing up £120,000, and you won't want to potentially scratch them if you are getting in and out .
As for the car park, can't really help as I don't use it, but know it is a fair walk and involves crossing busy roads (there are proper crossings). It won't be on street view as it is new. I'm sure someone else will be along to help.
(Maw667 obviously types quicker than me,)

Just got back from driving up to have a look so I don't get lost on Monday!!! The car park is exactly where previously mentioned and about a ten minute walk back to where we have to report to.
See you Monday:beer:0 -
One last question for the Jag workers...
In the email it says:
On the day you will need to wear casual work wear with no visible metal (eg. belt buckles, studs)
Does that include metal zip pockets and metal fly which are covered by a flap of material?
Even my tracksuit bottoms have a short metal zip on the leg (also covered by material)
What would you suggest?
Thanks in advance!0
