  • I want some opinions on something, if I selected that I would only be able to work during the day would this decrease my chances of getting the job?

    Thanks.
  • What is the pay rates that the new starters are getting now at Solihull and Castle Bromwich? Anyone know till when they're recruiting people for Jag and Land Rover?

    Thanks.

Yeah I get what you mean, I asked the guy who interviewed me how long it would take to find out the outcome. I was expecting him to say they can't say how long it will take due to the amount of applicants but instead he said 3-4 days at most 7days. But I will give manpower two weeks to see if they get back to me and then call them if they haven't. I understand they are dealing with loads of applicants but when you have one member of staff telling you one thing and another telling you something different it gets frustrating.

Oh and you are lucky just to wait 4months one of my friend who now works at land rover waited a year to get the job!!

All i can say is be patient ,I know some people have been waiting more than 9 months for the phone call so to hear you say people have been waiting over 12 months is unreal .I also know people who have got in after 2 weeks, My mate did but he tells me he must have been lucky so no one knows really when they will get a call because manpower keep their cards very close to their chest as you would think a big professional company would be .
  • after the interview stage, does every receive the "sucessfully passed all stages" email or is there a rejection one also?

I don't know if anyone got both , even if you pass the interview stage and get the email saying you passed the assessmemts you are still not guaranteed a position .

No, I don't think so, I said I didn't want to work on nights, but was offered a job on nights, I needed the job so took it, once you're in you can ask around if people are willing to swap shifts etc.
  • Hi all,
After applying to JLR on 15.8.12, I finally got a job offer at Castle Brom exactly 5 months later, with a start date of 28.1.13. A mate of mine went through the process just before Xmas and started at Solihull straight after the New Year.

There seems to be no logic to Manpower's selection process, and I have to admit that I thought I had been over looked, especially as the media has been awash with the 800 new jobs at JLR.

What I will say to you guys waiting is that I sent a reply to the last successful email that I received, stating the above comments, and the job offer email came through about two weeks later.

I hope this of some use as I too have been studying this thread over the weeks and have read every page hoping to find out what's going on.

Thanks to all of you for the info., good luck to everyone & I look forward to meeting other new starters on the 28th.
