hey guys, i had my interview on the 9th tuesday, was told its the last day of interviews..
had my email saying successful in all 3, so now its just a waiting game..
but after reading these latest posts, im baffled now as to whether i will be a Jag employee a temp or just an agency worker.. !?! Will i just be on trial if i get the job?0 -
Manpower agency for 12 months then I think a 3 month rolling contract with jag for 12 months0

"Manpower agency for 12 months"
4 weeks guaranteed. Read it properly.
Tbh I heard to today thay were planning on getting rid of loads of temps after xmas so they can be re-hired on the 70%. I wish I hadn't bothered applying as it seems a propper contract will always be years away now.0 -
I wouldn't look too much into the 70% rumor. Anybody who has worked in the car industry before knows that these rumours get thrown around everyday. Iv been on the track for only 2 weeks and the amount of heresay and conjecture i have heard is staggering. That being said, in our contract with manpower for them to re employ us on the same contract after taking us of it, there has to be a minimum of 8 weeks. I don't see that happening. The best thing i can suggest to people is, the job is there, do it, think if where you were before you had this job, get your head down, and 12 months will pass quicker than you think.0

im with you punk and hopefully others will follow, aboslute disgrace how we as manpower workers were spoken to , no backing what so ever , no vote so hence i have cancelled my unite membership by phoning unite , they didnt even bother asking why. followed call up to manpower to tell them to stop taking subs they wont get f*ck all from me with that atitude we to them are scum0
-
Done the exact same thing. I would much rather have stayed on track working than gone to that meeting. It was a wasted hour. No protection, no help, no vote. The way we are spoken to by the union makes you think twice about whos side they are really on!0

Been in jag nearly 3 months now.
From day 1 it is drilled into your head by management/unions/ Jag workers that you are Manpower Not Jaguar workers.
Fed lots of BS during induction ,telling us how we Manpower workers are the future at Jaguar.
Management treat you like some brown stuff under there shoes, dont give a damn how they talk to you if you complain you know where the door is! Anything goes wrong blame the new guys simple.
Unions only interested in getting money for nothing same as Management dont give a !!!! about Manpower workers rights, we have none!
Jag Workers most are decent and will help you out, However dont be fooled, just like the Management and Unions you will always be treated like an outsider by Jag workers no matter how close you think you are to them.
We are Expendable Manpower Agency Workers wearing JLR Uniforms , I would suggest that manpower Supply us with manpower Uniforms and stop conning us into believing we new starters are part of JLR.
On a positive note Moneys very good, just grin and bare it my fellow Manpower Agency Workers , nothing else out there!!
I have to disagree with some of that. I don't know what block your based in, but in BIW. Management are great for the best part. There will always be that us and them culture, but by segregating ourselves even further will not help the situation. If you don't engage people and don't act like your part of the team, then don't be suprised if your not here in the future. Management haven't treated us with half the contempt that the union have. You must realise that the majority of the workforce now is Jag, and that's jag protecting their investment ( which is what we are essentialy, tools to be used) if your not fulfilling that role, or are surplus to needs then you will be no longer used. No one is under the illusion that were not expendable, even the FT workers. The union ain't helped the situation but made it worse.0
