Hello,
I really want to design my own website with a shop to pay through paypal, there are so many things in the internet to create a website but with a monthly cost.
Does anyone know if there are any programs I can buy to create my own website so I don't have to pay any monthly/yearly cost? I know you have to pay a domain name yearly.
I heard about the program dreamweaver but not sure what this actually is, is it a program you buy and make a website yourself or is that something I will have to keep paying a monthly/yearly amount?
Please can somebody help me, I've been searching on the internet for ages but can't find the answers..
Thank you

If you're incapable of searching for such information, then you're incapable of acting on it once you have it, sorry.

The domain name is, as you say, as yearly, bi-yearly cost.
What you pay monthly for is the hosting and the bandwidth for people to view the site.
Dreamweaver will help you create the site, but is not the cheapest product out there.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Dreamweaver is a desktop application for creating the HTML/ code for a website. In addition to Dreamweaver you also would need a graphics program, given DW is made by Adobe then Photoshop or Fireworks are the natural two partners to it but you can use anything.
By the sounds of it you are looking at online website creators that bundle hosting costs and use of their website creation software into one monthly/ annual fee. You cannot sensibly remove the hosting costs but you can move off of their creation software. One option is to use something like Dreamweaver, but I wouldnt recommend it. Another option is to use an open source solution that has the functionality you need and then get/buy a skin for it. The final option is to pay a professional to do it for you.
Given your level of knowledge I would recommend you do seriously consider the final option. a good designer will charge between £500-£1000 to set up an ecommerce store using a custom skin on an opensource solution. If you arent willing to pay for your store I would ask why your customers should be willing to pay your store either0 -
Google have gone hill recently, but there is still plenty of good info out there, yes you do need to sort the good from the bad. But if the OP has been searching for ages and in unable to find anything then they are not ready to set up an online shop.
If all they are looking to do is sell and accept paypal only, then just go with ebayMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

Agreed. Or set up as an Amazon based supplier. So long as your prices are competitive, people will find you and you just pay ebay or Amazon their percentage.
You can always use the profit from it to get someone to build your own commercial site and promote it for you if successful.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. Wordpress might be a good place to start. It free to use and it has lots of add ones. It ranks well with google too0

You need an off the shelf package, there's no way you'll be able to use dreamweaver if you're having to ask this question in the first place.
Even with an off the shelf, you'd need some basic HTML knowledge and it will cost you anthing from about 10-20 per month, this is unavoidable as there are hosting fees.
Even people that create their own site with dreamweaver have to pay hosting fees. (the software is a few hundred quid to buy!)
Try create.net or volusion.com (better)
Also with ELance you can outsource to india/pakistan and get a logo and website created for for between £200-500 of the same quality that someone here would charge 1K upwardsMinds are like parachutes - they only function when open.

There is not really a professional solution to getting a free website. There are sites such as Wix.com and Moonfruit.com that will allow you to have a free site with certain conditions. Ideally they want you to pay a few pounds a month to remove adverts or to have your own domain name listed against your site. I've designed and built several websites using moonfruit for friends and family and it's pretty easy but i have been doing it for several years.0
