I popped £70 worth in yesterday, forecourt was empty, didn't have to queue...... Down the road at Tesco and Sainsbury's the queue's were a mile long.
I deduce it's idiotic school run mums, spreading idle gossip about fuel shortages and then panic buying at the supermarket fuel stations, In just the same way they strip the shops bare every Friday before a bank holiday......“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Christmas Eve is the worst when they have to buy five trolleys full of food to last them over the holiday period, usually 2 days until the shops are open again.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
Don't forget the other panic buy situation..
"OMG! I saw a snowflake... milk and bread! MILK AND BREAD!!!!111!!111oneone11"
Half of it probably ends up going off too.0 -
Good to see that there are still people who can afford to buy petrol. For me its a push bike.
For many it might be 'push car'Year 2019 (1,700/£17000mortgage repayment)Overall mortgage (71,400/165568) (44
.1%) (42/100) payments made. Total paid 2019 year £1,700
Total paid 2017 year £15,300Total paid 2018 year £13,6000 -
For a laugh, I decided to use the google public transport thing to figure out the effect on my 15 minute 95% motorway based commute.
Taxi for 3 miles in the opposite direction to a certain train station
45 minutes on the train to the middle of Cardiff
15 minutes on a local train
Taxi for another 3 miles
Total, 1 hour, 20 minutes. No idea of the cost but I suspect it's a lot higher than my diesel cost. Plus an extra 2 hours of my time every single day.
Not really got the choice but to buy fuel.0 -
The best way to beat the panic buying is to put a MINIMUM spend of around £50. That forces people to only fill up when they really need to.
And what if your car doesn't hold that much? The day my daughter bought her car she managed to squeeze just over £40 worth in, usually it's around £35 - £3814 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
I had to fill up today, noticed there were more people in than normal. I asked the manager he told me it was the busiest he could remember for ages. I also noted the price had risen by 2p a litre.
I suspect a few garages have upped the price overnight.Know the difference between what you WANT and what you NEED. :T0 -

If her car is anything like mine, it still has 15 litres in it when the fuel light comes on.0 -
Ive just had this email from work :
As you are aware fuel tanker drivers are planning a strike over the Easter period 6th April -9th April. It appears that already in certain parts of the country people are already ‘panic’ buying.
As a precautionary measure I would ask you all to keep your vehicles fuelled to the maximum from now until Tuesday 10th April. I suggest you fill your vehicles to the max then top up on a daily basis. Hopefully the strike action will be averted but none the less we need to be prepared.
There should be no additional fuel canisters being carried on vehicles.
We cannot have a situation where we have anyone saying that they have ‘run out’ of fuel. If you have any issues around this please speak to your line manager immediately.
Right gotta dash ive got to fill my van up...........You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
