Postage increases 2012

Are the RM planning to ditch the 20p stamp any time soon?
I'm assuming a 2nd class stamp and 20p stamp is the best way to go for Large 2nd after the price rise? (50p + 20p, would only cost 56p if bought pre-rise).
Also, can you buy stamps on monday 30th at pre-rise or new prices? Aka do they rise on the monday morning or tuesday morning?0 -

the new price leaflet for airmail > 100g has europe, world zone 1 & world zone 2
squinting at the map it looks like world zone 2, which is more expensive, includes australia/nz
I didn't realise this! I used to have a few Aussie buyers, but I suspect that the price increases will put many off. e.g. a 700g small packet to Australia goes from £8.70 up to £10.82 (Zone 2) and £10.42 (Zone 1). (Plus I've got to get my head around re-jiggling custom locations on e-bay postage section

No idea, but generally most mail companies have "make-up" value stamps on sale. Even if they are withdrawn they will probably still be valid for the 20p postage.marking_bad wrote: »Are the RM planning to ditch the 20p stamp any time soon?

I've done the same for LL's, bought 100 2nd and 10 20p, and will get more 20p as and when I needed.0 -
after having a proper look, am REALLY not happy about the 0-750g postage
I sell a lot of 100-400g items and the jump in postage from 96p 2nd class (currently the lowest I pay on my lightest items) £2.20 is disgusting
over double the cost
also, 77p to 95p for recorded delivery option ON-TOP of the postage charge
I have only just seen the new prices and im really angryabout the weight being changed to this and the price, as I sell lots of items that are only lightweight and now it's going to cost £2.20 to post I think they are making a big mistake doing this Royal mail rethink this one!!0 -
You're a bit late on all counts unfortunately. On low volume though there still isn't a viable alternative if you want to continue posting the items.yummymummy222 wrote: »I have only just seen the new prices and im really angryabout the weight being changed to this and the price, as I sell lots of items that are only lightweight and now it's going to cost £2.20 to post I think they are making a big mistake doing this Royal mail rethink this one!!.0 -
I agree with yummymummy, anyone sending light packets will think twice. A rise from £1.33 or £1.72 up to £2.20 is quite an increase.
For example selling on books, which I used to do will cost more, due to the thickness of them. Being low value it might not be worth doing any more.0
