Royal Mail Surveys rewarded with Stamps.

Just to add to my previous posts, my advice is to never pay additional costs to receive postage.
I am fortunate that it has happened to me only twice. One was via a red card left in my door to advise me to go to my local sorting office to pick up a letter and that I had to pay extra monies as the mail had not had the correct postage stamps applied to it. I didn't bother going to the sorting office so I have no idea where this mail ended up and, to be honest, I don't really care.
The other time was when my postman knocked on my door requesting me to pay extra money as the letter did not have the appropriate stamps. He was slightly amazed when I politely declined to give him anything.
If someone posts anything that does not not have the correct postage stamp, don't pay Royal Mail anything. If its correctly addressed, RM will return it to the sender (at their cost not yours). If it is important, the sender will repost it to you (with hopefully the correct postage cost !) !:)Have a beer! :beer:0 -

I'd love to be able to follow your advice, but if, as is very often the case, the sender hasn't included a return address, the item will just be destroyed - and it could very well be important.
I've had a couple which would have met that fate, and I'm very glad I paid the ransom money to get them.0 -
Someone has sent me their Posting Schedule along with a test item (goodness knows why).
Should I just ignore entirely or flag it up with RI so lady in question doesn't do it? Obviously no way of telling if she does it every time or just did it this once without thinking.
Edit: Also, she didn't include the R-number sticker (but I can get this from the Posting Schedule). Should I tick "no R-number found"?Wins: Samsung Galaxy S II - £500, Beats by Dr. Dre headphones, $50 Threadless voucher (~£32), Planet Dinosaur book - £20 (thanks MSE!), Robo Challenge T-Shirt and Gadget Show poster - £15, Joseph Joseph Scoop Colander - £7-ish, Ecozone stapler - £50 -

I don't think you can get the r number from the plan. Those numbers are just item numbers. It might be worth calling them. They will advice you return the smart and letter as well. hth0 -
I don't think so !:)
Have a look at this http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/player/b01g4dnh
and fast forward to around 9mins 45secs, where you will hear that Royal Mail don't "invisibly" frank stamps !
QED .
To reuse the famous quote of Mandy Rice-Davies: "Well, he would, wouldn't he?".
This is something I know has been used successfully in the past by the POIB. I have no reason to believe that they don't still do so. A random denial by the Post Office will not persuade me otherwise.
But whatever you (or I) believe, the thing that is absolute is that knowingly reuse stamps that have already been through the system is illegal; a specific offence: Postal Fraud. Any attempt to encourage or advise anyone to break the law is against the rules of MSE, not to mention being illegal in itself. The likelihood of getting caught doesn't change that fact.
SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -
Having been given a serious telling off by the man in the post office for reusing unpostmarked stamps - the background envelope colour where I'd cut round them was different, so easier to spot - he said I risked either having the parcel returned or the recipient surcharged. So if they've marked them in some way, I'd probably not take the chance.
Edit - just wondering if anyone else does reuse, how you do so unnoticeably? I've tried steaming them off but it didn't work. I've got some stamps I bought, stuck on the envelope then didn't need to post and it seems a shame to waste them. I cut round them because I didn't think there'd be a problem with sticking them on another envelope, but clearlly there is.
Why would you even think it was acceptable? you are paying for the service by buying stamps.
As for your envelope scenario.
Stick the whole envelope to whatever else you are posring g a package0 -

I was just wondering, has anyone who has been taken back on after being kicked off?
I was kicked off a while ago as someone who was due to send me mail had there weekly mailshot opened by royal mail by mistake, hence it gave my address and i was kicked off?

Just remember that if it's a test item that has insufficient postage (and this has been known to happen accidentally in the past) then when Royal Mail open it and return it to Kantar, you will have been 'outed' and will not be able to continue with doing the surveys.0 -
Received my posting pack today but it's missing an envelope for one of the posters
They have added an extra SMART Return envelope by accident instead (I received one last week after joining the survey proper). I have e-mailed TNS reporting it but how long do they typically take to respond? It has to be sent on Wednesday, if possible.
