I have filled in the questionnaire again, it's about the 4th time I've done it now over the passed couple of years.

Each time it tells me that I'm eligible but then I don't hear anything back!

Hi all, just like LEJC two posts above me, I've completed my training and received my first pack. In it there are two large 'packet' envelopes and they have bits of square cardboard inside them. Am I supposed to leave these in? Perhaps put the smart in them? They make the packet really bulky.

Thats the point of the cardboard inserts....they make the package bulky and the papar gives it the weight....

all the bits in the envelope are to add weight to the packet and padding....just slot your smart into the envelope and attach the r number to the first sheet of paper where indicated.

basically the envelopes need to be at least a certain weight and thickness to cover the postage cost....the paper adds weight and the cardboard is the extra thickness so dont try to flatten it down!
I have seen some people who insert the smart into the cardboard but its not necessarly for that purpose.

sorry for the short reply misfieta above... but I wanted to go off and find the quote that I typed a while ago re padded envelopes...hope this answers it for you....

    Hello everyone!

Today I have received a letter with no r number label attached to the paper insert. It also contained a smart.

I understand I need to send this item back to RM but when I select the request stationary option there is only the option for smart return envelopes, not general return envelopes. What do I do?!

Tut tut to whoever sent me this and forgot the sticker! Creating more hassle for me!

Last time I was told to stick it in a smart envelope if it was not too big. It was a packet so just sent the single r sheet and the smart with a note explaining why.

When this happened to me I sent it all back to them in a smart envelope,as theres no way you can log it on the system ....but they can check back via the smart allocation...
I also sent them an email with the details explaining what and why I was doing it...never received a reply to the email or a query to the item so I guess they matched it all up at their end!

Only received one item of post today

It was in a clear plastic package with a pre-payed card. The card stated Royal Mail Survey, please tick relevant boxes detailing who all items in the plastic bag were from and what they were, ie from a bank, mail shot.

The item in the package was a test item, had an R number and a SMART.
Appears Royal Mail randomly put mail in a plastic package and ask you to fill in a survey

    Never heard of that.
    In the circumstances, ignore it.
