What's your point that it is acceptable to do that because there is only a couple of days left before the price increase, pathetic

no the point was they gave a months notice after the price announcement.
the impending price rise was known before that.

I just tried to order a sheet of 100 2nd class stamps online but it won't let me checkout . I entered my Debit card details three times and on each occassion, I am bounced back to the payment screen.

I had the same problem with Internet Explorer and several items in my basket. I went into Google Chrome and ordered just a 500 roll of 2nd class stamps and that order went through straightaway. So if you have another browser its worth trying.

been trying since thursday to buy stamps online the 100 stamp sheet, but kept on getting bounced back after entering all my details, just wanted to add that i have tried firefox, ie and google chrome and all the same.

however i then changed my order to just the 500 roll of stamps and that order when through fine, more stamps than i was planning on buying but will come in useful for the future.

so looks like they arent letting anyone buy just 100 stamp sheets on the royal mail website at the moment,( i only tried the 2nd class 100 stamp sheets) perhaps after monday it will be sorted

If the website won't let you order try WHSmiths or other supermarkets and shops. I went to WHSmith this morning and purchased 17 books of Second Class. The lady said most WHSmiths have got a good supply in store.

Are the stamps on the 500 rolls self adhesive or do they require moistening?
    Thanks

I believe they are good old fashioned lick and stick ones.

I apologise if you feel my reply is aggressive. I'm afraid you are reading the reply very differently to me perhaps the original poster could elaborate.

Seems I totally missed everybodies point :rotfl::rotfl:. I thought custardy was commenting on the website being down and bri Bri taking offence at the sarcasm. Oh well!

Anyway, managed to buy 12 books of 12 second class today - will see me through a while. Got these in a Post office within WHSmith and they had quite alot. it was, however like getting blood out of a stone to actually buy them. The counter assistants were reticent to say the least and kept moving me on to the next one until I was finally served:D. It was very strange but there was no mention of a limit.

Also forgot to say if they are the licking ones just be careful. When I worked in an office a few years ago they had these. One roll became damp and they all become stuck together. I think it cost the business about £110 in waste.
  • I also tried several times to buy sheets of 100 stamps on the Royal Mail, and it kept bouncing me back after I'd inputted my card details - thanks to other posters here I knew it wasn't a one-off problem my end. Did what another poster tried, ordered a roll of 500 2nd class stamps, and that went through fine. Shame they don't look self-adhesive though, but should save me and my family a lot of money (as long as they don't get damp!).

Typical. I thought I had bought enough stamps to be MSE and last me a while, but there has been an unexpected event this week that now means I am going to need lots more stamps.

I have to go out later anyway, otherwise it wouldn't be very MSE, but any good ideas on where I might be able to grab a few more books today?
