It certainly wasn't nonsense what I said, even if sales haven't been fully suspended.
yeah,I mean nobody ever has stock issues when demand shoots through the roof.............0 -
I was planning on going to purchase 300 x 1st class large letter and 200 x 1st class next week. Damn. Wonder if I can split my order up and go to different post offices.0

Royal Mail aren't claiming it's due to stock issues though, they say it is to protect revenue.
From the Telegraph:A spokesman for the company said: “We do have limits on the amounts that individual retailers can pre-order in advance of the price rise. These limits are in place for all retailers so we can balance customer demand with the need to protect Royal Mail’s revenues.”"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

From the Telegraph:
well i dont really see an issue
Im surprised they havent looked at going back to the old system of priced stamps
I have said many times the price rises were coming (and will continue to come)
next will be zonal pricing(RM have tried before)
removal of USO etc0 -
Is there anywhere selling stamps 'cheaper'? Only the superdrug 5% off finished on Tuesday. I read somewhere that wh smiths were doing something similar, is this still on?0

You can be sure they will have done - and my guess is they'll find some way of achieving it to stop what's going on now.
Report on R4 this morning that within 10-15 years daily personal deliveries will have stopped altogether, leaving most people with one delivery a week.
Difficult to argue against that, really, given that by then most people still not using email instead of RM will no longer be with us.0 -

10-15? I would say thats pretty conservitive
i predict rural areas will have deliveries cut down, maybe dropping a Saturday to start
then it will open further and further
once you start with that, its an easy change
same with the UK wide price structure
that will be going soon0 -
Wife was able to buy 300 2nd class stamps at a local post office, with no questions asked.0
