Just been to Costco and purchased mine. Got a bit carried away. :o You know when your mind goes blank. :rotfl:

They have limited the stamps to 5 of their packets per category per customer. I purchased 5 packs of 1st class large letter and 5 packs of standard 1st class letter. The large letter pack consists of 10 packs of 4 stamps and the standard pack consists of 5 packs of 12 stamps.

I asked at the checkout if this limit was just until the price increase at the end of April and the cashier said yes. She said you could come back again tomorrow or if we had another card, we could get some more now. I said to DH to get some, so he got another set too wondering what I was on about.

Ended up purchasing 600 x 1st class standard and 400 x large letter. Only meant to get 150 standard and 300 large. :rotfl: :o

Wow! That would last me at least 3 lifetimes or more!

Just out of interest, how much are people paying for these large amounts of stamps? Would like to order a good rounded figure before the price hike.

Mine are for my business, so will probably last about 9 months. Costco are a slighly reduced price to the post office - about 3p per stamp cheaper.

Doesn't costco cost £20 per year though ?
hardly worth it for a one off stamps purchase ?

Actually, thinking about it the current saving is 8% and this will equate to a whopping 40% after the price hike so you wouldn't have to spend much on stamps to cover your membership. And then, believe it or not you can use the card for the rest of the year! Contrary to popular belief on here and HUKD you do not need to pay the membership for every deal!

I was in the PO today to post a couple of ebay sales and bought another three books of 2nd....however it was really sad, as a man came in and asked the queue loudly, "has anyone picked up or handed in some books of stamps? I bought 700 and they're not in my pocket anymore"...he looked really upset...
