Just the sort of thing we've come to expect from a self confessed WUM.
(I think you'll find I have used the term "busy fool" not "fool". This is in relation to gullibles spending on their risky card in order to reduce the cost of the expensive uw energy. The context being they are being busy fools, and could make things a lot easier for themselves by buying their energy much cheaper elsewhere, then shopping where they choose!)
(And not even a thank you for the Spanish gullibles you requested).0 -
Seems the Anti Utility Warehouse Faction has got worse since I have been away from this forum.
No matter how much they try to defame UW or Distributors or Customers, it keeps on growing anyway, because the customers are satisfied in the vast majority of cases. The recent reports place it at over 1,000,000 services as of the end of 2009. Will they still be trying to undermine UW when it has over 2,000,000 services provided. Cannot see why they have wasted their effort for so long.
I cannot see how they believe their own propaganda.

Only a UW salesman could gloat that there are so many thousands of people paying UW just about the highest rates for gas and electricity in UK, - many paying several hundred pounds more than the cheapest tariff. You should keep such sentiments for your evangelical UW conventions.
Given that a large percentage of UW customers are friends and family of UW salesmen(their recommended recruiting pool)it is a sad indictment of human nature that personal profit overcomes any guilt felt for duping said friends and family.
Rest assured we will keep up our mission to inform readers of MSE the true position about UW's high prices.
Anyway perhaps you(or uptomyeyeballs/keggs) could enlighten us about the latest position on UW's discredited Triple Value Guarantee.(TVG)
I note that UW are still advertising the TVG as:For your gas, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than British Gas, wherever you live in the UK.
For your electricity, we guarantee our prices will always be cheaper than the prices charged by the regional electricity supplier for the area where you live.
That of course is completely untrue - a lie - an untruth.
Even allowing for the disingenuous small print it is still completely untrue. UW have obviously ignored the fact that BG reduced the price of their gas standard tariff by 7%.
Indeed for my area, even UW's electricity is more expensive than the standard tariff of my Regional electricity supplier.
Of course the cheapest UW dual fuel tariff for the average consumer is over £300pa more expensive than the cheapest BG tariff.
With 1carminestocky/operastar/carespress being unavailable to answer for the UW fraterity, would any UW salesman like to comment on the TVG?

It's a bit rich to read a uw rep come here grumbling about propaganda.
Of course we know that regular uw rep contributors don't even believe their own propaganda.
eg Keggs (uw rep) always tells us here how "happy" he is with UW.
Yet elsewhere on the net is found telling his colleagues from uw he is far from happy with the UW who he feels "offer the worst energy prices" (his words),that he confesses to being "very uneasy at offering uw energy to potential customers", (his words again)
Or Nigewick (uw rep), who tells us here about the good customer service we can expect from uw, when elsewhere on the net he has complained bitterly to other uw reps apout the times he has experienced "fairly atrocious" service from uw!0 -

Bluffing again cardew. More Bluster. Come off it.
Your whole argument on price rests around ignoring any of the discounts that UW give.
You resort to distorting what UW and Distributors do in order to try to find something against them.
Now I am not offended in any way by your actions since it does not represent what I, UW or other Distributors do. Simply because you choose your pointless barrage is not my issue but an issue you have yourself. The sad fact is that you have merely become a puppet for the advertising companies who each spend many millions in a pointless competition against each other of advertising how good they want people to believe are and wasting their customers money in doing so.
Now then. Do you wish to try to discredit me with more false accusations?
You seem to think that UW distributors don't come on here because they are afraid of backlash. Your ego gets the better of you cardew. LOL.

Sorry to bring it up again Quentin but weren't you the one advertising a UW beating cashback card that proved to not exist just to try to prove a point.
You have to rely on distorting the truth and also bearing false witness on others. Your arguments do not hold water. It has been proved many times in the past.

Please tell me where I distort the truth, or bear this false witness on others. Then show me where I "advertise" a card!
(I see you have no comment on the way shown that your uw rep colleagues come here and try out the "propaganda" I have given chapter and verse on!)
(Have you seen the way the gullible Spanish teachers are mislead?)0 -

Long term UW Customer and Distributor.
You missed this post?I suspect that if Quentin gave detail of a cashcard that gave similar discounts to the UW card - then all discussion would be centered on the merits/demerits of the cashcard and not on UW's high prices.
This article in the Times gave detail of the babee card.
http://timesbusiness.typepad.com/mon...rd-before.html
http://www.prepaid365.com/the-babee-...w-at-P365.html
This enables you to get 5% discount at Sainsburys and 7% at Waitrose(a shop I like) as well as discounts of up to 20% in other stores.
Now I have no idea of the merits/demerits of the card which I believe is connected to Mastercard. So I am not getting into any discussion on the card, and will readily concede that in all probability the UW card is superior.0 -
1. I called my Rep about this since he didn't offer it when he got in touch the other day. He suggested I call the UW Office as he's never heard of this add-on. I have checked the website, but no mention. Of course TalkTalk offer one at £4 a month, which is why I thought I could replicate my previous service by going with them (for only a couple of pounds more than the £20 I'd been paying for BroadCall). I make a lot of daytime calls so my phone bill will now be an unknown quantity.
2. Thank you for that info; I'll check them out.
The distributor needs retraining.:D"Home Phone customers can subscribe to MoreTalk 2 (£3.25 per month) or MoreTalk 3 (£7.75 per month) whichprovide free calls to UK local and national numbers (beginning 01, 02 or 03) during ‘evenings and weekends"

For peak rate calls, and some other types of calls
you could always use http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via their 0808 freephone access number.
Just 5p connection and 1p a minute to 01/02/03 numbers.0
