I would have to complete a 12 month contract with BT before I could apply again to move to TalkTalk and so I decided to stay with UW and see how much my phone bill goes up over the next few months, before reconsidering my options. (The reason I expect my phone bill to rise is because, until now, with the two fuels making up my 4-service-package with UW, my anytime calls had been free - you will be in the same boat having had 4 services previously)
If you leave your broadband and phone line (Broadcall) with UW you have two qualifying services all that entitles you to is weekend inclusive calls.
See: https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/home/broadcall/ and then click on Free Global Calls.
To get 24/7 inclusive calls UW will charge you an extra £7.75p a month.
Rooty Tooty would not not appear to qualify for any inclusive calls at all if they just kept their phone line with UW,as they dont mention they have broadband with UW.
If thats the case they would pay UW monthly £9.90p line rental, + £1.76 membership fee,+ £7.75 24/7 call bundle. Total £19.41.
If they moved to BT they would pay monthly £11.56 line rental (online billing) and for the first year approximately £3.75 a month for the 24/7 call bundle due to 3 months free offer.Total £15.31.
BT dont charge for caller display as long as you make a couple of calls a month.UW charge an extra £1.25 a month. BT also include 200 texts, and theirs the £24/£36 credit.
I am surprised that UW still continue to mislead people by compareing their d/d Line Rental prices against BT,s non d/d prices. https://www.utilitywarehouse.co.uk/home/home_phone/homephone_info.taf
As far as the inclusive global calls are concerned http://www.callsdiscount.com/uk/index.htm allows you to make Intl Calls to most of the destinations covered by UW, plus a lot more eg Ireland,Thailand Russia, etc etc via their 0203 geographical access number. So if you have inclusive minutes with BT you could use this service at no extra charge. Their is no fee to use this service.
UW phone users should also be able to use the same service from their inclusive minutes to reach additional Intl destinations at no extra cost.;)0 -
There are a lot of UW salesmen on this thread trying to promote their product, so for the benefit of new readers, and existing UW customers, be advised that:
UW gas and electricity is just about the most expensive in UK and £hundreds more than the cheapest tariff - generally around 30%.
That fact can be confirmed by checking the tariffs in any comparison website or by comparing the tariffs yourself. Use the WHICH comparison website if you wish.
There is no need to listen to either side of the argument on this thread, just confirm the facts with any independent source.
As an example the average UK customer uses 20,500kWh gas and 3,300kWh electricity. In my area(Midlands) that will cost £894 with the cheapest supplier, the cheapest UW tariff is £1,199. That is £305 and 34% more expensive if you are silly enough to have UW as your gas and electricity supplier.
To give a actual example, Essexmum(a UW customer) posted on this thread “my usage is Gas 20478 kWh pa Electric 8667 kWh pa precisely” and sought advice on how to save money – which strangely is what MSE is all about!
The cheapest tariff for her consumption in Essex would be £1,286.
The cheapest UW tariff would cost £1,753
So that is £467 more or 36% more expensive than the cheapest tariff.0 -

LOL. I'll ask you again (Lord only knows how many times you've avoided answering this question):
Most of the questions you asked were when you posted on here as 1carminestocky.(about 1500 posts on this thread0
Similarly when you posted questions calling yourself Carespress on another forum you were banned as a troll.(marketing tactics they called it)
You simply have no credibility!0 -
'Round and round she goes, where she stops nobody knows.'
Where does that phrase come from?
Long term UW Customer and Distributor.Quentin's Cashback Card?
Let no man, advert or internet site tell me where to get my Utilities0 -

Where does that phrase come from?
Why ask google type questions in this thread? Or is that all uw allows its reps to do here now (post off topic)?
It comes from the radio show "Amateur Hour", and refered to a spinning wheel which was used to decide in what order the acts were to perform.0 -

Actually it originally comes from carnival barkers trying get people to spend money at their stall. Amateur Hour nicked the advertising phrase.
Where will this all end?

So you knew the answer and still posted asking about it?
Whilst you have been not posting, another uw WUM has been.
Could you be using two ids to post wind ups here?0 -
1. To get 24/7 inclusive calls UW will charge you an extra £7.75p a month.
2. As far as the inclusive global calls are concerned http://www.callsdiscount.com/uk/index.htm allows you to make Intl Calls to most of the destinations covered by UW, plus a lot more eg Ireland,Thailand Russia, etc etc via their 0203 geographical access number. 1. I called my Rep about this since he didn't offer it when he got in touch the other day. He suggested I call the UW Office as he's never heard of this add-on. I have checked the website, but no mention. Of course TalkTalk offer one at £4 a month, which is why I thought I could replicate my previous service by going with them (for only a couple of pounds more than the £20 I'd been paying for BroadCall). I make a lot of daytime calls so my phone bill will now be an unknown quantity.
2. Thank you for that info; I'll check them out.0 -
I wonder if its possible to have a good debate on here without accusations constantly being thrown at people, its getting quite boring now. Unless you have proof, you can't really accuse people. The way things seem to go at the moment is if your asked a question you don't like, you instantly accuse the poster of being somebody else, talk about paranoia!! If you've accused somebody of something on here, have you got the proof to back it up?:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:
