UW contract is 18 months or 24 months if you need a new line.
On the 18 month contract i believe you can cancel for £70.
UW claim they dont have a minimum contract for Broadcall.
But they say if the service is terminated for any reason within 12 months from the date they make it available or within 12 months from the date they transfer your line onto the cheaper “LLU-based” service, then you will have to pay a disconnection charge of £50. So IMHO they do in fact have a 12 month minimum term.
Hi Ypaymore
Can you edit your post to read TalkTalk rather than UW for the 18 and 24 month contract.
Thanks

I dont know, perhaps a UW distributor can tell us if they can now sign up UW LLU Customers direct.
Its possible that if they originated from BT they might have to be returned to doner (BT) first, and be subject to a 12 month minimum term.
Ofcom were working on a MAC code type of system for LLU providers but i dont think its been introduced yet.
Hi Ypaymore
As far as I know the industry is STILL waiting for the promised transfer system for LLU providers, so the answer is currently no.

Are you aware that UW Broadcall phone/ broadband is basically Talk Talk rebranded, without the 18 or 24 month contract, but dearer.
If you go to http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php and check to see if your exchange is Talk Talk LLU enabled, and if it is then you should be able to get UW LLU.
Hi Ypaymore
This has come up before, so I would like to question your generic assumption that the UW LLU service is basically TalkTalk rebranded.
You are stating this as fact, as far as I can tell.
As far as I am aware, UW use more than one provider for their LLU service.
I am aware of TalkTalk (Opal rebranded, recently bought by CPW?), Mistral being another (now part of Kingston?) and C & W. There may be others that I am not aware of.
Can you please confirm the source of your original assumption.
Thanks

You can use the comparison sites to see how uw compare.
I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

There is a uw rep who regularly posts here (Nigewick) who has complained elsewhere on the netThe mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

That's never the way it works on here, I'm afraid. Like for like comparisons are never adhered to (if they would show UW in a good light). You pays yer money etc...Call me Carmine....

Ypaymore,
Just so I have not misunderstood.
1. If you take UW Broadcall, the service is provided by Talk Talk?
2. UW charge £23 for their service with caller display and UW membership fee?
3. Talk Talk charge £17.74 for the same service; and in addition with Talk Talk you get inclusive evening calls and inclusive local calls 24/7?
Mmmmm
P.S. but you don't have to talk to 'Barry' on the sub-continent. Presumably the UW rep does it on your behalf?
There may just be a 'Barry' with UWs CS but I can assure he won't be speaking to you from the sub-continent  Maybe you have become used to pigeon English after all those years with BT and BG so this may not be a big deal for you, of course, and we all know you equate 'value for money' solely with 'cheapest'...Call me Carmine....

A great bargain for anyone, UW customer or not. £599.99. UW customers, pay on your UW card for £30 off your bill.

Or have it delivered for an additional £5.80 and get £9 cashback from topcashback/quidco etc! A net £567 for UW customers doing this and paying on the UW card.

Slightly cheaper?
UW is 29.6% more expensive than Talk Talk and with Talk Talk you get inclusive unlimited evening calls and inclusive local calls 24/7 as well.
Of course whilst UW say you don't have a minimum term contract it appears you pay £50 if you leave within 12 months - but that in UW speak is not a minimum contract term.;)0
