UW charge £19.99 a month for their broadcall service this would count as 2 qualifying services so it gives you inclusive weekend calls only.

To this you have to add the membership fee of £1.76 a month, and if you want caller display UW charge £1.25 a month extra for it.
Currently Talk Talk are charging £17.74 a month for their phone/broadband package including inclusive evening and weekend calls, inclusive local calls 24/7 ,and free caller display. Connection normally £29.99 but free at moment.(18 month contract.)

Customer Service can be flaky, just like BT if you go to the phone/broadband forums or their own forums your find unhappy members posting about them.0 -

Nice to see an objective and knowledgeable post on UW telephony.
Sadly it will bring you in line for attack.0 -
Ypaymore,
Just so I have not misunderstood.
1. If you take UW Broadcall, the service is provided by Talk Talk?
2. UW charge £23 for their service with caller display and UW membership fee?
3. Talk Talk charge £17.74 for the same service; and in addition with Talk Talk you get inclusive evening calls and inclusive local calls 24/7?
Mmmmm
P.S. but you don't have to talk to 'Barry' on the sub-continent. Presumably the UW rep does it on your behalf?0 -

Yes UW Broadcall (LLU) is basically Talk Talk (CPW) rebranded. If you go to www.samknows.com your notice that UW is not shown as a LLU supplier in its own right. UW look after their own Customer Service and liase with their various suppliers where appropriate.0 -

4. You'll be in an 18 month minimum contract.
UW contract is 18 months or 24 months if you need a new line.
On the 18 month contract i believe you can cancel for £70.
UW claim they dont have a minimum contract for Broadcall.
But they say if the service is terminated for any reason within 12 months from the date they make it available or within 12 months from the date they transfer your line onto the cheaper “LLU-based” service, then you will have to pay a disconnection charge of £50. So IMHO they do in fact have a 12 month minimum term.

I dont know, perhaps a UW distributor can tell us if they can now sign up UW LLU Customers direct.
Its possible that if they originated from BT they might have to be returned to doner (BT) first, and be subject to a 12 month minimum term.
Ofcom were working on a MAC code type of system for LLU providers but i dont think its been introduced yet.0
