I had better spell it out!

In Eastern District with Economy 7 on standard rate you will pay 13.610p/kWh day rate, 3.5p/kWh night rate and £4.50 per month standing charge.

You then add 5% VAT to all those figures and then pay £21.50 UW membership pa.

    Feel embarrassed keggs?

    Keggs.

Dont they cover it in training ?

They may do but I genuinely do not remember it being mentioned. If it was it is probably not something that registered. As I said, it is not our job as IDs to know the ins and outs of the energy industry. It is our job to discuss with potential members what they are currently on. The HO do the rest.

So, I do think it very unfair of of Cardew to deliberately try to make a fool out of me for something I genuinely did not know or had forgotten.

His derogatory attitude however just confirms the arrogance and know it all attitude. But I thank him for having learned something new which I will not forget from now on.

Incidentally Cardew I do not feel embarrased at all. What's there to be embarrassed about. It doesn't alter the fact that the UWDC offers great value to many people. You don't like it - that's fine.

    Right first time.
    ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4786 kbps 1017 kbps
Line Attenuation 50.5 db 27.0 db
Noise Margin 8.70 db 11.5 db

The downstream stats are the important ones (impressed by the 1Mbps upload BTW)
Your router is synchronising with the exchange at 4.786 Mbps
The line attenuation of 50.5 db shows you are a fair distance from the exchange.
Using an ADSL2 speed predictor over on Skyuser it estimates you could potentially get between 6 and 7Mbps.
Your router has a noise margin of 8.7db which is a bit high they can usually sync down to 6 or 7db, with a consequent increase in speed.
So its possible that the line is a bit noisy which is limiting the speed, I'd normally suggest plugging into the test socket but since you don't have one with a removable faceplate it might be worth getting your tame BT man round to give the extensions the once over.

    Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for that, Penrhyn. Would it be worth my while setting up the router directly into the master socket and see what figures come up? I am using very long extension wiring at the moment. BTW, when I claimed the speed is rock solid it really is freakishly so.

    Keggs,
My problem is not that you get it wrong - given your track record that is not surprising.

I said patman was wrong. You had no reason to intervene but you jumped in saying he is telling the truth, you would never trust me and then poured insults and scorn on me.

Despite post after post telling you you were wrong, you insisted on sticking to your figures and kept up the same insults.

You did exactly the same a couple of days ago on VOIP - jumped in and made yourself looked foolish.

If you 'hauled your neck in' after such embarrassing episodes it wouldn't matter. However your cannot keep your fingers off the keyboard and post provocative posts time after time.

You sell gas, electricity and telecoms, yet your knowledge of your products is abysmal.
I cannot think of many people who don't know that you pay more for daytime electricity when on Economy 7 - yet you(an energy salesman) are not even aware of that very basic fact.

Wouldn't you be better employed learning some basic facts about the producut you sell, rather than jumping on this thread, insulting people who patently know far more than you, and attempting to be clever - whilst failing miserably?

    Yet another arrogant post.

When you meet with potential new customer do you compare their existing provider,s tariffs with yours to see if you can actually save them money .

My original comment was about patman's post.

You had no reason to respond! Yet you couldn't resist jumping in and making a fool of youself.

Despite being given every opportunity to extricate yourself from the mess ,you carried on making a fool of yourself.

If you don't know why you should be embarrassed, these are some of the comments you made whilst attempting to show I was wrong and you correct.

Yet another arrogant reply. I am sure patman99 posted his comment just so you can flame him. Have you ever thought for one minute that he or she might actually be telling the truth. No, of course you didn't. Your blinkered viewpoint only sees one thing.

    What a surprise.

And I thought Quentin was the only obsessive around here.

You can't accuse someone of not telling the truth when you were not there at the time. You can spout tariffs as much as you want Cardew but the fact is this person posted some information which I prefer to believe than anything you have to say.

Another characteristic of a rather overbearing, arrogant, know it all individual who accuses people of being out of their depth simply because they dare to challenge you.

Yet again more arrogance. More fool you

would have thought the great all knowing Cardew would go there first considering his interest in the internet extricate

Cardew, you do realise that you and Q both come across as narrow minded, bitter and bigoted? Not the most attractive characteristics.

OK, so you don't like UW for whatever reason. That's your choice.

But, if has to be said that for many people UW is a good buy. You don't like that. Fine. You're entitled to your opnion as is anybody else.

Please have the good grace to acknowledge that it suits rather a lot of people, even if you're not one of them.

It suits me and it suits my customers. I can't help that I've simply shown them a different approach and they like it. If I can't help them, I tell them. If I can help them I will.

If Keggs has made a mistake, what's the big deal? I'm sure that when he does come across an Economy 7 customer, he'll find out the correct information that is pertinent for that customer.

We all make mistakes, including you (believe it or not).
