  • Almost 3 hours since my challenge and silence. I'm amazed, Cardew and Q in particular are forever spouting off about UW being expensive, I've asked them to find me a better deal than £29 just for September's gas and electric consumption (even though this £29 INCLUDES u/l broadband/phone line rental and ALL calls for the month!) and what happens? Silence. As my old grandmother used to have a habit of describing blokes with no backbone - 'All mouth and no trousers....'

I've just informed the missus that there's someone on MSE calling us gullible for using UW. Her response? Are they OK in the head? :p:p

We're so gullible we're paying £29 this month for

    Gas 285
    Electric 352
    Unlimited broadband
    Phone Line Rental
ALL calls (over 300, some to international destinations)
Free calls to UW CS/tech support
    £10,000 accidental death insurance
    PAPER bill
    One DD

I'll chuck you detractors a morsel - find me a cheaper price than £29 for just the gas and electric. We'll forget about the phone line/broadband/calls, eh?

I noticed you have stopped posting the "Up to 24mb" in front of the unlimited broadband since I asked you to provide your speedtest results ;)

On the contrary, I was just trying to make it easier for you lot ;)

I am never going to get amazing speeds due to being so far away from the exchange plus I'm still using far too many extensions etc. Suffice to say, I used to average 3.2mb with Sky's top speed package (ADSL2 up to 16mb?) so I've experienced a very decent 30% increase in speeds. Rock solid as well. I'm more than happy to let you use an up to 8mb service for price comparison but being as i have now decided to take the u/l broadband and phone/calls package out of the £29 price and am just asking for a better price for that for gas and electric, I do have to say you are diverting attention.

    Up for the challenge, PC?

Yet another arrogant reply. I am sure patman99 posted his comment just so you can flame him. Have you ever thought for one minute that he or she might actually be telling the truth. No, of course you didn't. Your blinkered viewpoint only sees one thing.

    What a surprise.

And I thought Quentin was the only obsessive around here.

    Telling the truth?

Well patman99 appears to live in Essex - so Eastern District. Perhaps you can check UW's Economy 7 prices for that area and let us know the actual prices; then compare them with what he posted.

Knowing nothing about VOIP(your words) didn't stop you posting misinformation on the subject.

However even you, I assume, can look up electricty prices and let us know 'the truth' - after all you did thank him for his post - or perhaps you feel his figures were close enough to meet UW's definition of accuracy.

Annoying when people do that isnt it? ;)

More embarrassing when someone does it who is continually accusing others of it. I'm assuming as you've taken out all the other parts of my post including the challenge you also can be included under the description coined by my gran? ;)

You can't accuse someone of not telling the truth when you were not there at the time. You can spout tariffs as much as you want Cardew but the fact is this person posted some information which I prefer to believe than anything you have to say.

How do you know he lives in Essex. If he does his tariffs are even better - 10.539 / 3.5 for a standard user than he said. The 11.3 is Manweb.

What has my inadvertent lack of technical knowledge to do with patman99's post.

Can you answer Carmine's post please instead of trying to divert attention away. Another characteristic of a rather overbearing, arrogant, know it all individual who accuses people of being out of their depth simply because they dare to challenge you.

    Sorry, I forget I have to spell things out S L O W L Y for you to understand.

The issue is not what the BG salesman said to Patman - although on BG's tariff it is obviously incorrect.

    Patmant99 stated:
    I told him I pay 11.35p/unit dayrate & 3.5p/unit nights.

I maintain that is not correct - yet you saw fit to thank him.

So the question is do you believe this is the truth?

Do you understand the question - I mean really understand?

Fine, Sign up with OVO energy, use your amount of Kwh in my area and it will cost you £49.76 by my estimate.

Over the last month I got around 700 points on my tesco clubcard, worth £28

Take that off the cost of the gas and electricity (the same way you do with your cashback card) and I make that £21.76 for the gas and electricity.

As the meerkat would say.. "Simples" ;)

Edit: My mistake, I was using the wrong prices for OVO, They would actually cost £47.84 making the overall cost £19.84

You are really sure about those tariffs - I mean really really sure?

You wouldn't like to check again??

It is not just your lack of technical knowledge, it is your all round lack of knowledge that causes the problems.
