    Eh????

As previously posted, why not save a little grace and apologise?

You know I can put up lots of quotes, which will just be even more embarassment for you.

    Go on then.

For someone so happy using the Quote function, you seem to shy away from using it to support your claims about Keggs...fishy?

Keggs knows there are quotes if you really want them!

    eg:

    keggs wrote:
the monthly shopping bill is currently around £160 possible more. A 5% cashback amounts to £8 - not a lot I agree but it will be £8 off my UW utility bill. In time if I get into the habit of using it at other outlets, the amount of cashback paid back onto my UW bill increase substantially

So documentary evidence is needed for any claim on this forum?

So what 'documentary evidence is there that UW's internet phone does 'not use VOIP'?

That every single customer of Maz saved money on their gas and electricity?

That UW have the best customer service amongst the Utility companies?

That UW have been awarded Which 'Best Buy' status for their gas and electricty.

So when a disgruntled UW ID posts that he has had an email urging UW IDs to vote in the Which survey, that claim must be disregarded.

Yet keggs' patently untruthful VOIP claim is allowed?

I think Keggs post is a lot less damaging than someone stating that an e-mail that would skew a national survey was circulated.

I will concede that some ID's post misleading info (perhaps because they have misunderstood or are naive rather than to do any real 'harm'), but surely even you can appreciate the need for proof on this occassion?

Misleading/misunderstood posts about UW services can be easily and quickly challenged and corrected on this forum, but to state something so potentially damaging without offering proof is wrong.

Please refer to my answers above

So do you still stand by your quote below:

There is no point discussing Skype - this is not what the Internet Phone line is. It does not use VOIP. If people prefer Skype so be it. The IPL is completely different. I mentioned Skype simply for that reason - to tell people it wasn't the same or similar. It is a normal phone line that just happens to ues a Broadband connection.

    Understand now

So does UW's Internet phone use VOIP or not?

If anything I have said is incorrect I am sure my colleagues would tell me and I would accept it.

Any UW colleague want to hel[p keggs here?

    Or help carmine?

So what 'documentary evidence is there that UW's internet phone does 'not use VOIP'?

Yet keggs' patently untruthful VOIP claim is allowed?

I agree that some reps do post misleading info on here, but I find it hard to believe that UW would e-mail all reps asking them to vote in the Which survey, I would happily be proved wrong though!

What is your opinion on Q's cashback card Cardew? Do you believe it exists?

How does this quote prove I have a card or I don't have a card. That was a comment on how much I could potentially save using it in Sainsbury's.

Where in this quote do I actually say that I have a card and that s what I have actually saved?

OK, I seem to have got myself roped into this debate ....

VOIP - Voice over Internet Protocol - widely used technology, originally primarily across global private netwroks such as SITA and for large corporate clients - nowadays available to small users at comparatively (not Skype level) small investment. Generally high quality and comparable with 'normal phones' (often actually better when operating in 3rd world regions). Will use private or public internet network between selected interface nodes to a standard phone network (either local or wide area) at at least one end one end. The UW internet phone is a VOIP application (unless I have missed a new technology - understandably the UW trainers profess little or no understanding of the technology involved) and will deliver your call via what is a telephone exchange/internet link point for normal delivery.

Skype is not a VOIP application - it is an all internet application. It has variable call quality and technical restrictions for corporate use.

If someone, somewhere has mistakenly commented on the UW internet phone being 'a normal phone' not VOIP then it is probably mistaken but hardly a felony as many times people are experiencing normal phones using VOIP without them even knowing it (common application for call centres etc and for other 'low cost' international call services) - but it is not Skype, which many people mistakenly believe to be VOIP.

Just a layman level description (before a real telephone teccie sets about me !)

Whoa! Did he say UW 'would email all reps'? What he posted was:
Which? And I remember the email we were told of in advance and ourselves family and friends to vote.

He was told in advance about the survey and urged to vote.

It is entirely plausible that UW vested interests would send emails to other UW vested interests, to urge them to vote where possible.

It is the same as the situation I quoted earlier when Arthur Scargill, the then Secretary of the NUM and at the height of his unpopularity with all the Miner's strikes, was voted BBC 'Man of the Year'.

I doubt if the NUM would send out a formal letter(no emails then) urging miners to vote, but of course the message got to all the miners!!!!

Don't know why you prolong this. You know the truth of all this. You actually told us you don't have a Sainsbury's to use it at! (Do you expect us to believe that your monthly supermarket shopping comes to under £40 a week?). If so (given the size of your family), post about how it's done!

    keggs wrote:
Unfortunately we only have Tescos, Asda and Morrisons near me which is a bit of a pain but you never know at the rate this card will be grasped I'm sure these other supermarkets will accept it.

Hope so anyway. In any event I use many of the other outlets and there are over 25 of them.

Why not apologise (not to me, but to the others), whilst there is still a chance of remaining with a smidgen of credibility?
